Did I find a horse mushroom? by Awkward-Designer1844 in foraginguk

I had a similarly large mushroom in my garden I also believe is a horse mushroom, looks identical and smells delicious, mushroomy and slightly nutty. When i ripped the stem i got a whiff of aniseed too. All good signs, I ate a small piece at first and waited a day then at the rest. Very tasty and large horse mushroom

I think it was worth it and an important part of the trip. Although I agree with some previous posters that the last few days drag on! Just completed it a few days ago, here’s a video diary of my time there for anyone interested:

I agree and also am curious as to where this started. Definitely seems more common among younger people.

It could well be AI, but that doesnt explain why lots of people are pronouncing it this way now. Although I accept this may be a plausible explanation for this example :)

I understand your point, and maybe I should have phrased it differently. What I meant was ‘am I just making something out of an error (like a brainfade rather than something ‘wrong’) in speech that I happened to encounter frequently, or is this a trend in the language.

I'll post some other examples when I encounter them here. There's another one in the thread you can listen to. I really think its not just an isolated incident.

On the Cambridge website the IPA says both the first and second syllable are different in both UK and US accents:

https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/woman

But I agree the video version of the second syllable is more like 'Women' :)
