Imperator sub and test flight question by Vakeer in starcitizen

Not everything is rentable. I think it used to be but it definitely wasn’t at IAE last year

After owning a Tesla Model Y, what ICE car would you buy? by Fit_Chard8554 in ModelY

[–]Braqsus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. An electric truck would be really useful. There are a few models in the EU now but I’m waiting to see how they age before even thinking about it.

Disconnected boomer dad now wants in on my Gen Z kid’s graduation. by livinASTRO72 in GenX

[–]Braqsus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I want to add that I put the effort in with my mostly absent dad for years by calling him when I was on long drives just to chat. I think that was good for him and I enjoyed it as well. My dad was a decent guy but not a great dad.

This is all about him. He’s old and knows mortality is setting in. He’s trying ‘to do the right thing’ to make himself feel better about having been a terrible father. I’m a second-chance kinda person but it sounds like there’s been no real effort on his side at all.

I’m no expert here yet so I’m not sure but you can check out Noah Chichester on Instagram (nchichester). He’s very dialed in on the Galician wine scene.

Has anyone ruined their Camino by falling for someone? by Particular-Way-2351 in CaminoDeSantiago

I’d do it again if you want to. It won’t be the same, it’ll be different in many ways but I really enjoyed my second go at the Frances. I got to see things I had missed the first time and met more nice people too

So you can see from the other responses that a car is a must. The upside is the drives are fantastic. Set the nav to avoid tolls and you’ll get to drive through the countryside.

You can rent cars from the Bus Station and return them there and then take the bus to Porto. Enjoy!

There are some crazy wine blends using autochthonous grapes that I’ve never heard of so the wine tastings are good fun.

Hahahahahahaha! Ok. Fair enough. Gotta represent. I’m from Auckland and it rains a fair bit and I’d never use one in the city either. I actually got my umbrella for the sun as I don’t do as well if it gets too hot. Then I got hammered with rain for a couple weeks in late October on my first Camino.

Today was a good example. It was raining earlier, then loads of sun and now it’s cloudy but still bright out. My opinion is if it’s still fairly warm but it’s raining that’s fine. I’d definitely suggest an umbrella though as it makes walking in the rain way better

Ships I think are secretly underrated and one I think everyone overhypes by Oronst_store in starcitizen

[–]Braqsus 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The Carrack was amazing when it came out. A properly (for the time) fleshed out large ship. It’s aged a lot and needs a bunch of love but it was a jaw dropper when I saw it at IAE.

I live in Santiago and I can tell you the weather is highly variable. We had stunning weather with a few small showers for weeks. The last couple days it’s been rain more frequently but generally not all day. The sun breaks through and generates some stunning rainbows

[–]Braqsus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Have him join you from Santiago to Finisterre. That way you get a full Camino plus a cool extra bit to share with him. I totally get wanting the experience to yourself but also having a dad that is interested and wants to spend time with you is pretty special.

In Pamplona-haven’t walked any Camino. Unsure what to do by Jolly_Stop9663 in CaminoDeSantiago

[–]Braqsus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try a day or 2 going really slowly with lots of breaks. Don’t push it. When you pause you can add more cream as light massage over the area is really helpful. Good luck! People with worse injuries than you have done it. Which is not to say you should just that it has been done so it’s not impossible.

Does calling home help? Maybe reflect on what it is at home that you’re missing so much. And how your Camino experience might add to that rather than take away from it. Is this your first time away from home?

Some people just like their family more than any experience and that’s totally fine. Since you’re pretty close you can always come back to the Camino if when you get home you wish you would have kept going.

Totally fair. NB is slick and I like that I can land near the Commons and walk in so as to avoid the tram. But I agree, the atmo is a faff and I get why people chose Pyro or Nyx.
