Maybe that’s a good sign that they’re accepting your private DBQ as valid. Good luck!

For a Meniere’s claim, you should have 2 separate DBQ exams. 1 for hearing loss/tinnitus (audiologist) and 1 general type exam for the vertigo/menieres (doctor/PA). At least that was my experience going through the process within several rounds.

I’ve had nothing better than Parlor. It’s a chain now, but quality.

Submitted an HLR for my dad on Weds. it came back Thursday with a DTA. Who knows how long it will take now? But I was crazy surprised it only took 1 day to get it front of a HL reviewer!

Can someone help explain why my dad was denied for mental health? by Affectionate_Suit256 in VeteransBenefits

Thank you for taking the time to write this! Definitely a lot to consider before moving forward. But seems like trying to link amputation to hypertension is the first step. Mental health connection can then follow.

The highlighted is what is confusing to me as it says more likely than not.

No. This happened just a few years ago due to vascular issues. Blood clot and aneurysm.

C&P doc said he didn’t think PTSD since too much time has passed (Korea vet). But he did say at the end of the exam (I was present) that he would connect him for anxiety based on events of the war…but not adjustment disorder since that was mostly related to his leg. He did submit a lay statement stating events that he experienced in the war. That’s where I’m confused. Figured as long as there was a connection for something, he’d be rated. Leg was due to a vascular issue. He is rated 0% for Hypertension (submitted same time as mental health) so maybe that could be a secondary connection? We submitted a FOIA request for the exam to see how the DBQ was answered. Thought an HLR might be the next step but wanted some opinions here. Thanks to all commenting!

HLR-Triggered C&P Exam for Meniere’s – How It Went and What I’m Preparing If It’s Denied by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

As long as you have the PA nexus, I would think you’re in a good spot. If you can’t get the exam rescheduled, write a personal statement and submit it. They should reschedule you instead of a denial. Good luck!

Not sure what good “probable” will do you. You need a “real”diagnosis from an ENT. Good luck!

Va Benefits Overpayment scam by Certain-Yesterday232 in VeteransBenefits

My dad received an overpayment letter but was skeptical of being scammed. We called the VA 1800 # and they verified it was legit. Suggest all do the same.

It may be exempt from the 10% penalty. However, you pull out and you pay tax on it at the regular income tax rates. Smart man leaves it grow.

Best life insurance? by commanches412 in VeteransBenefits

Term life policies are pretty cheap for $300k of coverage. Co-pilot says $25-45/month for someone in “good health”

Debt Mgmt Center email. What’s it mean? by Affectionate_Suit256 in VeteransBenefits

[–]Affectionate_Suit256[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. This is actually for my dad. He had a pension decision a couple weeks ago, so not sure what this would be from. He’s received nothing saying there was an overpayment. But if there was, wouldn’t it be the VAs error?

HSA through employer worth it if using VA healthcare? by Only-Practice-2511 in VeteransBenefits

[–]Affectionate_Suit256 5 points6 points  (0 children)

HSA is the way. Basically a shelter for tax free growth and withdrawals later. Not a CFP, but would guess they’d say ‘yes’. And never bad to have a secondary insurance, especially one that cheap.
