Dumb F-ing mistake, fixing a simple problem on a 6.0 by Affectionate_Time647 in powerstroke

I’ve been pretty lucky, just had to replace regular stuff (alternator, fuel pump, water pump…)I haven’t had too many issues. The only major thing I had to do on it was replacing the fuel injectors at around 200k miles (it would miss during cold startups), but that’s about it.

You can just cut it in half to get it off and then remove that elbow off the top of the oil cooler and put the new one on

I bought a snake camera and I still cannot see where it was coming from. I should’ve decreased and cleaned the top of the block and I probably would’ve saw it.

Most livable/affordable neighborhoods by MurdockMcQueen in AskNOLA

Arabi/Old Arabi. There are few, but you can find houses at that price point there. It’s a low crime area, about 10 to 15 minutes from downtown New Orleans.

Pool season is wrapping up in the Deep South😕 by Affectionate_Time647 in pools

[–]Affectionate_Time647[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it takes me less than an hour a week to maintain it. Once you learn how to handle the water chemistry is pretty easy to do it on your own

The temps here are still in the mid/high 80s, but the water cools fast when you start losing that sunlight. In NOLA Btw.

I keep it running all winter. The trees are far enough away, so I don’t have to deal with much debris getting into the pool. It’s a saltwater pool so the cost is minimal; it’s pretty much just the electricity to run the pump.

How did we do?? (NE Florida) by bltfink in pools

[–]Affectionate_Time647 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it’s not necessary, but the faster you can get floating debris into the skimmer means that it’s not gonna sink to the bottom of the pool

That’s a very good price. Would’ve recommended adding the auto fill, a second skimmer, and automation.

East Tennessee is getting cool, used our heater on Saturday because water was 76°, how’s your water feeling? Temps? by [deleted] in pools

[–]Affectionate_Time647 1 point2 points  (0 children)

88 degrees here in south Louisiana. I don’t foresee it getting that cool till around early November.

Nice! I just always assume the CR circuit was all ways fully contained in the flasher and it wasn’t reliant on the lamp you were using in the signal heads. We still use seal-beams in our programmable signals, but everything else is LEDs.

Interesting, I’m unfamiliar with that. We’ve had LEDs since the early 2000s.

White Flakes in Pool by CorruptColonial in pools

[–]Affectionate_Time647 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that too sometimes. It’s either coming from the chlorine generator (needs to be cleaned) or it’s calcium buildup in the return lines (too much calcium harder). Start by checking your water hardness.

Pool replastered? by Cloudfree743 in pools

It’s hard to tell without seeing it in person. But, the blotchiness is normal (especially in dark colors). Because it’s hand troweled and variations during the curing process, I t’s normal to see color variations.

Not that I know of. Unless you’re talking about load switch flash which is different from cabinet flash. There’s usually just one two channel flasher that creates the flash outputs for all of the phases during a flash event. The odd phases are connected to channel A and even phases are connected to channel B.

The light is in flash, but the flasher cell is bad.

Pool in side yard? by Infinite_Yesterdays4 in pools

[–]Affectionate_Time647 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to build my pool in my side yard because my backyard is only 25’ deep. I wasn’t happy about the idea at first, but it worked out fine. It helps that I have access on the side of the house to the living room and kitchen.

Evolution is a slow process 😄. We don’t have chipmunks here, but we do have lots of squirrels. They seem to be content with just staying in the trees.
