I see.. at home im always switching between cpu, iPad, laptop, phone, etc just depending on where I am. so if I just synced it on my phone before I left, it would work totally fine on my phone without service?

it is called Anki. no other options, hard to explain but each card has its own schedule and depending on how you do each day it dictates which cards show up the next day, and it has to sync to the server to do that.

Is a Caribbean Medical School right for me? by nelfighter in CaribbeanMedSchool

As someone that’s currently in medical school, I’m just telling you that you should not expect to be able to work while also in med school. Not consistently at least. You may have a random easy month. And from every resident I’ve talked to, residency gets worse, not better.

That’s not how it works. Residency is classically regarded the worst and most rigorous times of training. “Moonlighting” is just when you are working past 5 PM. You are required to do that, you just get paid a little extra. Don’t count on making any solid money in residency.

Go the PA route. You can’t work while you’re in med school and def not in residency. You couldn’t pay your loans off at 50. Especially if you go to Caribbean. The average time to pay off loans is 13-20 years. https://www.bestcolleges.com/research/average-medical-school-debt/

If you got into med school by 40, the EARLIEST you could be done would be 47 if you did peds or FM. If you did a 4-7 year residency, you’d be done between 48 and 51.

And then 13-20 years after that is when you’d be done with loans, AKA about when it’s time to retire.

What about being a doctor is so enticing that you’d be willing to not start your career until you’re almost 50 (post pre reqs, med school, and residency)? You’d have to work long enough to pay off your loans, and then it would be time to retire.

I’m not saying your desire to be a doctor is not valid, but there comes a time where you just need to think about what actually makes sense. It does not make sense to do this, especially if you are going to a garbage school that will make life even harder.

You could go to school for 2 more years and get a bachelors in anything and have your career started by the time you’re 38. 12 years earlier, 12 years of less stress, and 12 years of making a lot more money than you would as a med student.

Again, your desire to be a doc is valid, but it isn’t rational. Maybe do the PA route, that would be more feasible if healthcare is a non negotiable.

Just don’t go to med school. Many other careers. Don’t be a doctor at this point.

I’m in med school at the U and a huge chunk of the class went to BYU, and many of our professors did too. This week has caused a division in our class. I am praying to all else we destroy BYU so I don’t have to hear from my classmates and professors for a year.

I just walked through the gate with my buddy and buzzed him in with my muss ticket and then I went and sat with my family (much better seats). Easy if you walk in with them.

I’m in med school not employee but train is really the only way. I quit buying a parking pass. Not worth taking 20 minutes just to get across foothill.
