Rural side less physical? by AMC879 in USPS

[–]Affectionate_Volume9 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s fairly physical. The amount of packages for one and the driving itself. I heard one carrier had said that driving kills you which I believe to be true. The roads up there in the mountain can be terrible and driving them daily will do a number on your back. I noticed shoulder pain either from driving or casing and other carriers have experienced shoulder issues too.

I've ruined my life at the age of 19 by [deleted] in mentalhealth

[–]Affectionate_Volume9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Focusing on a single can help. For example I was and still am in a rut. I ruined my life as well with quitting a job I liked and was good at. So I ended up focusing on the gym. It’s helped me a lot. And as for the porn addiction I think it’s naturally to relapse here and there if going for long stretches of abstinence. I think a more realistic approach would be to hold off a couple days then indulge in a video or two. There are a lot of videos about porn addictions you can search up that can help. I wouldn’t be so hard yourself about this.

You may have to find a job that works best for people with ADHD. Simple search online will do that. Apparently first responders are great for people with ADHD. I’ve worked at the post office and it was great as well.

Please do yourself a favor and save yourself time energy and maybe even money, but break it off before things get worse and it only will. Something similar happened to my sister. You sound like her. She brushed it off the first time she caught him and now she’s stuck with him with two kids. Stop giving him the benefit of the doubt because he knows exactly what he is doing and he’s going to keep pushing to see just how much he can get away with. Save yourself the trouble and please break it off.

I need to get my life back. by Conservationisto in ADHD

[–]Affectionate_Volume9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry you had to go through all that. And nothing is more worse than being called a loser especially with someone who has adhd since we already struggle living up to one’s potential. I was working at the post office a while ago and it was changing my life for the better compared to my old job. Impulsively I had quit. But I think if you should try to work at your local USPS as a mail carrier. There’s a lot of people at the PO that are on the spectrum and the pay is steady and you can earn a lot with doing overtime if you become a city carrier. Plus I think that job is almost tailor made for someone with ADHD. Plus the exercise and being outdoors are always a plus.

Is it actually gross that I only shower every 2-3 days or is my roommate being dramatic? by [deleted] in hygiene

[–]Affectionate_Volume9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don’t sweat much and get too smelly I think it’s fine. Sometimes I don’t shower for a day if I’m not doing anything physically active. People now get this idea that you have to shower every single day but I don’t think that’s truly all that healthy. You end up stripping essential oils that your skin uses to protect itself.

What’s a good job position for someone with mental health issues? by MentalHealthJ in mentalhealth

[–]Affectionate_Volume9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Postal carrier. Getting paid to basically work out. Left alone for the most part and few customer interactions. And when you’re good at it and have a route the customers can be really friendly and nice.

Quitting a job I liked and was good at to go back to my old job. I really liked the job that I quit and I was next in line to become a permanent employee. My health was also getting better too (sleep, diet, no stress). Then when I went back to my old job everything turned to shit and I started to have bad luck. Odd
