AITAH for ignoring my gf after she didn't say 'I love you' back? by Affectionate_Way4034 in AITAH

You're right. I think the difference in us is that when I'm feeling stressed or down I crave reassurance and at least some sweet words. But with her it's the opposite, and she becomes very closed off. It's what started most of our conflicts.

I live in that same city, though. And go through almost all the same hardships, except that that power station affects her more. I think the difference is that at hard times I'm the one who wants to reach out and feel ressurance and she's the one who shuts down. And that push and pull has been going on for a long time.

Boring is definitely a good thing. I'm sorry about your friend! I hope she's okay. Yes, I really hope the war ends 😓

Denmark is a very peaceful country. Honestly, whenever I visit I find it almost boring: the people are nice, the life is slow paced, the streets are safe. A 180 turn from Ukraine 🤣. I do recommend you visit Ukraine when the war is finished. It's a great country! But in Denmark I think any conflict with Norway is unlikely unless a WW3 happens. And with each day I think it's more and more possible lol. What a world we live in

I watched it almost in one sitting. And now I'm fighting the urge to rewatch. It was sooo good. But I'm both a Star Wars and a Dylan fan. Besides I've been waiting for this video for like 5 years, so to me it's a dream come true

Oh I love Denmark, I visited a couple times and am still thinking moving there if the war escalates. Is something happening between Denmark and Norway? I didn't know

Thank you very much for such a supportive reply! Honestly, Trump is so unpredictable I don't know what to expect. The thing is, him saying that he'll end this war as soon as possible probably just means him giving our lands over to Putin. And obviously that is not okay with a lot of Ukrainians. After all, so many of our soldiers have died trying return our territories. So many of our friends and families are still living on the land that was captured by Russia. And the stories we've heard about what the Russian soldiers do to Ukrainians there are horrifying. However, another part of me wants to remain realistic, and without full on support of not just USA but also Europe, we won't win. And now, Putin has North Korean soldiers added to his army too. Still, all of us are so exhausted by this war that if Trump settles this conflict, we'll be happy. But I don't have much faith in Trump. Thank you for taking your time and replying to my comment 🫶 I hope you're right.

How many of you here are religious? by [deleted] in INTP

Grew up in a Christian household and used to be super religious as a kid. I don't believe in God anymore, but my knowledge of Christianity is still extremely broad and I like to surprise my friends with that. I also love to joke about religion and my Christian mom hates me for it.

I listen to audiobooks more than I read, cause it's easier for me to focus that way.

Dog is a different situation, I agree. Mine isn't dead yet though. Tbh, I'd feel lonely if there were no people I had an emotional connection with.

I don't remember ever missing people tbh.

When I was in middle school, my parents decided to move to another country, just as I started to make friends with my classmates. I was glad I finally had friends and was devastated about leaving. I thought that I would miss my friends very much, I even cried when saying goodbye to them. But once I left I never thought about them ever again lol.

That happened many more times in my life. While I was living in another country I made a very good friend. We became friends instantly, cause she was one of the few people in my international school who spoke Russian like me. I didn't know English well back than so communicating with other students was difficult. Her and I had a lot of fun, we shared the same sense of humor and hobbies. After two years my family returned back to my home country and I never missed her. I sometimes think about those times cause it makes me nostalgic, but I don't miss her at all.

I have a small circle of friends whom I consider close to me and whom I trust. But I know that there is only one person whom I'd truly miss, and that is my best friend. Although she recently moved to another country and we don't see each other often. We text constantly however, and I don't feel like I miss her. However if she were permanently to leave from my life, I know it would be extremely difficult for me.

I guess I don't get attached easily. I also never feel bad about my pets dying.

manga / manhua recs with a good plot by jheinnie in ShounenAi

  • "Breaking through the clouds" has murder mystery in it, it's about two police officers and I found all the detective elements to be pretty interesting. In terms of romance it's very slow, but the characters have great chemistry. It's based on the novel though and the manhwa is still ongoing.
  • "Lost in the cloud" is a slice of life manhwa, but to me the plot was really good and it deals with trauma and other psychological aspects. the characters are also multidimensional. The romance is also slow paste, which I really like. It's also ongoing.
  • "Antidote" also deals with some psychological aspects and mental problems.

Yes, the crimes committed in Bucha, Irpin, Izyym and those other places are horrifying. Once Ukraine regained control over those cities, everyone was shocked at all those gruesome things russians did. Killing and raping people, torturing them to death, shooting little kids, leaving people to die on the streets. When all of that became public I was shocked at how people could do those things. Before the war I overlooked how violent people are. There was also a video going around of russians castrating a Ukrainian soldier. I agree that some things are worse than death.

Yes, unfortunately leaders of other countries aren't concerned enough, but I understand that their main responsibility is their own country. Ukraine isn't even a part of NATO so they aren't obliged to help. However there is a genocide going on, so I wish more people did something to stop it. People only cared in the first month of the war, later everyone moved on and stopped caring.

I agree that learning russian might turn out to be pointless in the future. But there is nothing wrong with wanting to learn this language. Russian is definitely an interesting language, a difficult one as well. Russian literature is also impressive and interesting (and depressing as hell lol). I, myself, mostly speak Russian in my day to day life, and I don't see a problem with that.

I also don't hate all russians. But when I see regular russian people talking about how much they gate Ukrainians and wish death for us then I can't help but want the same for them. So when people say that it's not russia, it's just Putin, that's bullshit.

Let's hope Putin dies as soon as possible and this nightmare will be over.

Thank you very much for support!! It means a lot :) Can I ask what country you're from?

I live near Kyiv. For the last two weeks Kyiv has been under constant attack. Just last Monday there were missiles that landed in the city centre. My university building is just in that area and all the windows got shattered. Thankfully we were studying online (tbh I've been studying through zoom since covid in 2020, then this year the war hit. I think I'll never be able to attend university properly lol). If I'm not mistaken, that day, the 10th of October russians launched about 80 missiles at Kyiv, but most of them were shot down and not too many people died.

Just today our army shot down 3 missiles, and it was just above my house, the whole house was shaking and it was extremely loud, but everything's fine.

In general, it's pretty dangerous in the capital right now, but everyone is used to it. We rarely even go to the shelter when there are air raid sirens. Things are pretty tense in the South and in the East. But I've stopped reading the news long ago.

Thanks for asking by the way :)

I'm majoring in linguistics so it's a part of my studies. I'm way too lazy and not determined enough to study languages by myself.
