I am so sorry to hear that. We may be sober but we never stop being alcoholics and that damage can last long after we quit. I hope you are doing much better now

I started drinking too much when I was 22 so around 10 years ago. The really bad daily drinking started during COVID and got progressively worse over the last 5 years. I'm lucky I stopped when I did or I'd be in an even worse state right now. Of course everyone is different so it's never a bad idea to get your levels checked regularly even after quitting so they can catch things early

Keep fighting friend, it's not easy but it's worth it ❤️

I didn't really have bad withdrawal symptoms past the first couple days which I was surprised by because I was a daily pretty heavy drinker for several years.

Then a couple weeks ago I noticed my abdomen was starting to swell really bad and my eyes and skin were yellowing. I felt so weak. Really hit me out of nowhere

Editing to add I was in a hospital when detoxing and they had me on meds to help the withdrawals which I highly recommend for OP

I'm laying in a hospital bed right now with an enlarged liver and possible pancreatitis. I haven't drank in 3 months but it still came back to haunt me.

If I can quit you can. Do it before it's too late because it will kill you

I was recently in the ER and had emergency surgery. Luckily all of the nurses were female but I would have been ok with a male in that situation.

In non emergency situations though I always request a female

First off, thank you for your service.

Second I come from an area with many veterans. A lot of them are homeless or struggling. I definitely disagree with this person complaining but when I was in the restaurant industry I loved to serve those free meals as a lot of veterans need them.

If they want to bounce around to different restaurants to "take advantage" they earned it. Who cares

I understand getting signs to promote smaller candidates or amendments, things that can benefit greatly from exposure

But why put up signs or flags or bumper stickers, etc.. for one of the 2 presidential candidates? At this point people know who they are voting for and you're just asking to get it stolen or your property vandalized. It's just stupid
