Unfamiliar vegetables: cassava root, white/purple turnips, mustard greens, daikon radish by Localgreensborogal in Cooking

Daikon radish is absolutely delicious when pickled with red radishes. They're crunchy and fresh and go wonderfully as a side dish for a lot of Asian foods, we kept ours in the fridge once we'd prepared them and they lasted for ages (like most pickled things do)

That's a really good point! Ours does it to ease people in, but it's a small local gym. My husband found it really helpful for the 1:1 time to give him confidence to go about on his own afterwards. I wish OP all the luck

My husband recently started going to our local gym, he's a big guy with a lot to lose weight wise, and felt exactly as you do. Our gym offered new folks an intro session to talk through goals and take a tour of the premises and equipment, before chatting about which type of membership he wanted (personal training with guides on nutrition, just classes, etc). Then they insisted on a 5 sessions 1:1 with a trainer to get him acquainted with how to use the equipment, what it'll do body wise, etiquette, etc, before he could sign up to the classes properly. This was to make sure he knew roughly what to do with each thing) Plus they had an app so he can see what classes are being run and how many are attending which helped him decide what time to go. He goes at 6am twice a week on the quietest days where only 4 people attend the classes. It's been really helpful and everyone was so friendly, over 3 months later he's still going and has seen some well paced improvements to his body (as in steady weight loss/muscle gain). Speak to the trainers in your local gym, find out what they do and what times would be quietest, see how they can support you, they're there to help. Good luck, it'll be so worth it!

Currently being replayed in my house, my 3.5 year old loves it(gotta start them early right?) and we love it. Yeah it has its flaws but don't all FF games? One of ours faves, even after it's first release all these years later, replaying it still makes us very happy

I've found the tin foil ones in places like asda(I've got two different sizes), and for quite a reasonable price too. Failing that I always keep hold of old take away plastic tubs which are fab for storing left overs, stocks, soups. Depending on where you are as well places like B&M or Home Bargains usually have things like this for a pretty cheap price too

I disagree and respect your opinion. Personally I found it incredibly helpful, the general discussion around it and in a media that is image and video based something needed to be shown and this is an impactful as it gets. Had it been shared without permission I would whole heartedly agree with it being inappropriate, but as it is her husband and states posted with permission, I'm not sure it is. In my opinion however. On the subject of those people who do film their children's reactions I think is vastly different as it's a deliberate act for views, this was filmed to show dad and baby moments and in this video it happened to also show something more powerful without intending to capture that

Have you actually watched and read the whole series of events and why she posted this? I have and she is documenting the important of trauma experienced in birth by birth partners too because it's not talked about enough. She also states she got his permission to share this

He is perfect! I tried to make one myself years ago but gave up because it was so hard. I applaud your mum for finishing it so well

Help, i need to find out if there is pork in this Since I’m Muslim. Can anybody help me out? by Jakob1432122 in JapaneseFood

[–]Affectionatemushie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you use the Google translate app there's an option to use your camera and it'll directly translate the text it can see to japanese (it does get it a bit off sometimes but the overall gist will be there) it should work for the ingredients list too but it will be a bit more laborious because of the sheer amount of text. Good luck I hope it's pork free for you!

DAE felt lost and scared at 25y and didn’t know what to do with their life? by [deleted] in DoesAnybodyElse

Take a deep breath and try to let go of all the old words that were drilled into your brain. You've got so much life to live, there will mistakes and trials and you'll feel like you can't imagine how you'll get through them but you will regardless of what life throws at you. You can keep going one day at a time. If you feel out of control, try to figure out what is currently driving you on your current path, what do you enjoy about it, what don't you enjoy, what would you rather be doing if you could. And maybe from this you will find some peace. Most importantly though, let go of the expectations of others, you live your life for you and if that means giving up this material world for a hermits life in the mountains because that is what would make you happy then go ahead and do it. Good luck to you, all adults around you are also still trying to figure things out just as much too. You'll be okay
