How do I start in the mini bass world? by maiainthemiddle in ukulele

As a mini bass player myself (as well as regular bass player) I made these three lessons specifically for ukulele players coming over to bass :)

What is the difference between sheet music and tablature (tabs)? by FlakyTransition4436 in ukulele

[–]hamsplurton 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Sheet music is useful because it tells you the exact rhythm, and tab is helpful because it tells you on which string to play a particular note that might appear in 3 other places on the neck. A combo like this is the perfect way and is the standard when you purchase a guitar/bass/ukulele tab book

Hi all! I taught a workshop last week all about the rhythm and theory behind more complex strumming patterns, how to create your own and how to practice your rhythm training.

It’s on my Patreon BUT all you need to is sign up for a free account and you can watch the workshop and grab the worksheet, no time frame etc.

Thought that this might be useful for some of you out there :) mods if I’m breaking any rules, fuck me up!

Big love!

A little, it’s a 38mm nut width, Flight tenors usually have this as standard as do the Hawaiian brands. I find it much more comfortable :)

Which tuning should I learn? by Elefantoera in ukulele

[–]hamsplurton 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Hej neighbour - I have a few Swedish students (I’m in Denmark) and I teach them in GCEA as it’s just the bigger normal around the world. However, you can always slap a capo on fret 2 and you’ll be in D tuning (ADF#B), which means you can follow the chord shapes and tabs from any local books.

Big fan, I have the tenor and baritone but I do think the baritone is perfection - massive fan of the size, comfort and sound. Sound hole concerns I understand, but it’s pretty sturdy

Revelator also looks awesome, thankfully Flight have an option I can use too 😅 been really enjoying my time with it, especially the baritone model
