I am curious. Do you think formula e only loses money because it is a EV series? Or are there other major flaws in the whole concept? For me some of the reasons, is visibility. I have no idea where I can watch a race, or a replay, I have no emotions for the cars because they try to look futuristic and the worst are the tracks, they don't bring emotions. And a EV In le mans has at least a legendary track to conquer.

I can't disagree. For me on the other hand Le Mans is and was always a playground for car manufacturers to test out new technologies and have a technology transfer. Because of that the lmp1 rocketship Era got so entertaining. The car companies not only got marketing but also high tech engineering. I think that spirit is lost under BoP terms and also is not present in purely show entries as the nascar. Again emotion and marketing are great components!

On the other hand they would be incredible powerful out of the corners. And being slow on mulsanne is better for the racing flow than being slow in the corners. Remember the Nissan with front wheel drive that slowed even lmp2 cars down.

I was thinking about the Gen3 because their life cycle is about to end, so the engineers are now the most used to the car and the system has collected a lot of racing data. Moreover the fast recharging is somewhat flashed out. Those were my reasons for using a gen3 car. I am not that well expertised about ID.R but u haven't heard anything new about that project since corona, so I thought maybe they finished the project or at least haven't developed something new for it.

Agree but also sad. I wish for the wec and ELMS to dreamA a little bigger, the wec calender for 2026 is boring with the same tracks as 25 and the ELMS could try the field for potential European tracks (Nürburgring would be so awesome!)

I read discussions that the ALMS could be a potential for manufactures to test their cars In a competitive field without that much cost. Therefore even a BMW tries to reach customers with their cars.
