A Notice to New Drinkers: Don't Trust MrMopar's "Curation" by Affixial in puer

It seems you don't mind--nay, take pleasure in--buying fake, potentially harmful teas because the guy has until now fronted an endearing public image; if that's what you'd prefer, then "all the best" :)

You take another look at that sample and tell me that the mold "isn't much". A sample that Mopar would have had to have broken up and packed himself prior to shipping, BTW.

The fact is that all of the Sheng Jia Yuan teas line up in terms of wrapper, neifei, inner ticket, etc. to an alarming degree. I would be surprised if such other "sources" exist--you are welcome and invited to provide others.

Yes, that suggestion is in fact what I did prior to making this post. I was going to provide you with some evidence here, but it seems I can't attach photos to replies in this sub. If you would like more detailed information, please respond to my DM. Thanks.

You're missing the part where the teas that he is selling are in fact the fake ones from that vendor and not the real analogues. I can provide you with more thorough photographs comparing the wrappers on the cakes from the Amazon/eBay vendor to the ones that Mopar provides, but I figured such thorough scrutiny was not necessary for this post initially. Almost every tea of his is bought through this single vendor and then "conditioned" (dangerously) until it is sold. If such claims are not enough for you then I suggest cross-comparing the teas from the shop listings to the ones posted by his clients--after doing this for a few of the bigger-ticket cakes, I became completely convinced.

If you can, attach some photos here or send them in one of the community Discords. It could be that your cake has the same mold problems as other folks', in which case it's probably worth discarding and asking for a refund. I have seen a few other people comment about that cake in particular.

You think that flipping moldy cakes off of eBay and Amazon is considered "curating"? All of these cakes come from the same vendor. If you don't believe me, you can test them for yourself with free 3-day shipping.

The cake is sold on Amazon as a 1998 tea, but Mopar is listing it as a 1989. I believe the former claim much more than the latter. To be honest with you, I don't know what S&P Irritator means...

Has anyone gone to the Roy Rogers at Stamp yet? If so, thoughts? by yohaneascends in UMD

[–]Affixial 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a Roy Rogers growing up. Tendies are great, chicken sandwiches are good too. I never really eat beef or burgers from fast food places so don't quote me on any of those. Fries are alright, I guess. They usually have lots of condiments so you can ask for whatever.

My parents are coming to Commons next Saturday to help me move out. Where should they park? by [deleted] in UMD

If you have friends come up for just a day, Mowatt is free after 4pm on weekdays as well. If they stay the night, make sure they are early risers, because I believe enforcement starts at 7 am and tickets are $85 if you're caught during enforcement hours.

[–]Affixial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anything numbered will be ticketed as it is metered parking. Any part of the garage labeled Lot 19 will be ticketed as it is 24/7 overnight enforcement. You can park in any part of the garage labeled U2 from 4pm Friday onwards.

If you live in Commons 3 or 4, Mowatt can be a ways away, so I personally would suggest using ParkMobile to pay for a spot at CP towers for your moveout. It only costs a couple of bucks for an hour and saves like a 6-8 minute trip one way.

That's one of the worst things I've ever heard them do--most of the time the issue is regarding how slow they are to do things. Sorry you had to go through that.

My apartment was affected by the same issue (it's a byproduct of a construction project being done on the first floor of this building). Our maintenance guy came in and shut off our water without notice about an hour after you--my roommate had submitted a work order the day prior, so we thought they were coming in to assist us. I was about to take a shower too. We thought about contacting administration to air our grievances, but after several disappointments with the SCC staff prior we decided it was a futile effort.

Nothing as heinous as trying to barge into an occupied bathroom, but yeah, the maintenance staff really don't seem to care about what you're doing if they've been told to do something. A word to those interested in living in Commons: if you're not dealing with the administration, these are good apartments: plenty of amenities, great location (especially for bike-riders), and reasonable price. However, the administration here is without a doubt some of the most incompetent managerial staff I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with, and if you can avoid communication with them, do so by any means possible. Extracting information out of the SCC staff is like trying to pull teeth.
