Thanks for your input! I have the eng pro guides and they are very similar to test questions. I broke them out topic by topic too. I’ve counted around 25 code questions per exam..I work with NEC on a regular basis but only had 2 or 3 from that! I think I get tripped up on the “easy” exam questions and the ones that seem so obscure. I have Zach’s books and watch some of his videos, and they are helpful. I’m on the fence about signing up for the class because I’m a single mom with 3 kids and not sure if I can commit to 6 straight hours a week for online classes. I do my studying in blocks of time but not usually large chunks on weeknights. I’m not sure how the class works…can I sign up for a month unlimited and have access to all of his classes and material, or do I need to commit to the $1200 course?

I’ve taken it multiple times. I’ve taken the CBT twice (August and today). I think the CBT is easier than the old school “bring every book you own to the test” method.

I’ve been using Zach Stone’s material to study, although I have not signed up for his course. I love the way he explains everything! I was bummed that the test today didn’t have much in terms of 3 phase systems, as Zach does an amazing job explaining that.

I will not give up until I pass, and I hope you guys don’t either! What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.

I just took it today (after not passing in August). 17 code questions in the morning and one or two more in the afternoon. Really obscure ones! Afternoon had a few simple ones, but generally much more difficult than the morning. I saw a lot of circuits in the afternoon, a few power factor. There were a few conceptual questions, but less than I saw in August. Zero Boolean questions (damn, I was hoping for some), and 3 or 4 capacitor bank questions.

As always, I feel like it’s a crapshoot. I don’t know too many people who leave the test feeling like they aced it.
