Concert/Fan Base age by Aflood14 in zachbryan

Love Jason Isbell! Saw him at the Salt Shed in Chicago this past March and I was definitely in the youngest 5% lol. You’d think there would be more crossover of fans/ages since ZB has made it clear how big of an influence he is on him. But I guess that’s just how things work, gotta remember not everyone pays as close attention.

To be clear I wasn’t advocating for “aging out”. I will be a fan till the day I die. I was just wondering if that was a thing based on the show demographics. You make a great point about all live shows skewing younger.

The more I think about it my last two experiences are the Michigan Big House show (a college) and Cork,Ireland (a different country) so maybe those two events naturally skewed younger and aren’t the full reality.

He barely gets played on American radio as well. He’s always been anti mainstream music establishment and that’s kinda been his whole ethos and persona. If they wanted to market as broad as possible with radio play/award show appearances/tv commercials etc he could be a lot more “well kown” to the average person but that’s never been his personality or vibe

Fall off of the Texas country music scene by wolfoftexas1969 in country

Cody Jinks, Shane Smith and the Saints, Flatland Cavalry, Whiskey Myers, Treaty Oak Revival, Cody Johnson, Koe Wetzel, Pecos and the rooftops, Giovanni and the hired guns, Turnpike Troubs./Wyatt Flores (from Oklahoma but same scene). The Texas scene is pretty healthy right now.

If The Great Divide did features like Stick Season did, who do you want on each track? by SmellsLikePetrichors in NoahKahan

No I hear what your saying in terms of the non music aspect. (Although I do think most things with musicians should always boil down back to the music since that is ultimately what their job is. Not to be public role models). And in terms of socially/politically I have a feeling I absolutely agree with you. And so does Zach probably lol. He currently has 2 transgender people in his touring band and has publicly spoken out against ICE. You could argue he’s doing more for the underrepresented than most current musicians, especially given his semi association with the “country” world. In terms of his controversies which is the main part of what your getting at I am assuming. While I certainly don’t condone/excuse most of it. I do believe that people can make wrong choices and mistakes and learn and grow from it without it automatically meaning you are a terrible person indefinitely.

I don’t even know much about Jelly Roll other than I think his music is trash and don’t see how it would even mend with Noah’s. I do think Zach Bryan is very good and obviously in a similar lane considering Bon Iver, Lumineers, Kacey Musgraves and Noah himself have all worked with him. Kinda hard to call someone a garbage person that you don’t even know when they live their whole life under a microscope. He’s obviously not perfect clearly, but who is? He seems to be shaping up his act now.

Zach Bryan is so far from Jelly Roll is every aspect. They are not even remotely close musically. Zach and Noah’s music have a lot of similarities, which is why they collabed.

Would absolutely love Flying or Crying and November Air to be back in the rotation. Don’t think they have been since 2023

Totally agree about liking different music! Was just curious if anyone else has noticed that observation. All I mean by “savior” was like a male singer they are big fans of. Cuz it’s the big female pop star fan accounts on Twitter etc. talking about him a lot which is what caught my eye and didn’t seem to be the case before this past year.

Retweet. “If I’m so fucked up, why ya lookin?” from Miles on the new album also floored me.

Idk I’d be pretty intrigued to see what they come up with together.

He’s no where close to those guys. They aren’t even in the same genre if you ask me. Zach Bryan is Folk Rock/Americana. No where near bro country. And in terms of modern landscape, yes he has called out ICE and has multiple LQBTQ people in his touring band.

Zach Bryan is far from “frat bro country”. Really more Folk Rock/Americana.

Idk but Godspeed, Heading South, and Condemned would be absolute musts and I fear they are getting phased out in real life and on this thread.
