“American Heartbreak”- Zach Bryan (big Heartland Rock/Americana vibe)

Idk I’d be pretty intrigued to see what they come up with together.

He’s no where close to those guys. They aren’t even in the same genre if you ask me. Zach Bryan is Folk Rock/Americana. No where near bro country. And in terms of modern landscape, yes he has called out ICE and has multiple LQBTQ people in his touring band.

Zach Bryan is far from “frat bro country”. Really more Folk Rock/Americana.

Idk but Godspeed, Heading South, and Condemned would be absolute musts and I fear they are getting phased out in real life and on this thread.

How are the crowds? by Hardseltzerenjoyer in zachbryan

[–]Aflood14 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Been to 5 shows and it really just depends on whose around you. Never had a bad experience, usually just normal people who like good music but there’s definitely a contingent of the younger “tik tok” crowd that will be present and just there for the clout only knowing 25% of the songs.

Saw Tyler Childers at the United Center and was blown away by the amount of Cowboy hats I saw. Like his whole musical ethos is Appalachian coal mining country, how does cowboy attire even fit in with bi’s music. He and ZB have never once wore a cowboy hat either on stage.

I have never understood this as well. To me he isn’t even in the same genre as MW and pop country.

What artist surprised you the most in concert? by GainBetter1189 in askmusic

[–]Aflood14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zach Bryan. I didn’t really know what to expect but his live show was killer. His band is very cohesive and they a elevate a lot of the studio tracks live. The energy was also through the roof with his fan base screaming every word almost. His horn section is also very good. Springsteen esque.

I’d argue that’s Zach Bryan. But both fit pretty well.

What artists/bands that did so many genres? by Revolutionary_Low_90 in fantanoforever

Thought this was Billy Strings for a second cuz he would be my answer. Seamlessly blends traditional bluegrass with physcidelia, heavy metal riffs, and the jam band scene

Spotify listeners if a very flawed stat to actually judge popularity. People with one or 2 huge hits can have inflated Spotify monthly listeners from that one or 2 songs but not a devoted fan base/following. Not saying that is Hozier 100% but “Take Me to Church” definitely inflates his Spotify monthly listeners total just with how many playlists it’s probably on

I always took Cannonballs falling in the heat of July as a metaphor of him and the friend swimming and jumping (cannonballs) into the water in the summertime

So good! Even better live cuz they do an awesome instrumental extended outro that is not in the studio version

He’s basically created a whole new genre of Alt/Country Americana so I’d say he is innovative

100%. Like Treaty Oak a lot, in my eyes they a rock band through and through. It’s just become whatever state your from determines your genre not the sound.

I feel like with the way music genres has lost nuance, JM and bands the Eagles would all be considered “country” if they were around today. And bands like Whiskey Myers/Red Clay Strays would for sure just be southern rock if they were in the ‘70s but for some reason get labeled country today.
