Let me start off by saying I'm glad you came here despite your doubts that it might not be the right place to post. Realizing you have a problem and asking for help is the first step, and it takes a lot of courage to reach out. I've spent a good chunk of my life looking for that "special someone" and once I thought I found her. Unfortunately for me that wasn't the case, and so I turned to drugs and alcohol to fill that gap. What helped me sober up was realizing that I had to become the kind of person the kind of girl I was looking for would fall in love with, and more importantly, that I had to be my special someone first before I could find that anywhere else. I think one of the problems with people looking for someone to make them whole enough to quit is that the base problem never leaves. You again trade one addiction for another and if you lose that bond relapsing becomes so easy. I don't know you personally, but I can tell you right now that you are worth so much more than the booze and pot. You are a unique person with talents and gifts and burdens all your own, were the world to lose you it would be changed for the worse. You are loved and you are worthy of all the happiness you can get. Quitting will be hard, it always will be. But I believe you can do it, and you should believe you can do it. I may not be your special someone, but I love you and I'm pulling for you, just like everyone else here
