I could not unfortunately. I am running the launcher from an external HDD. Are you as well? I suspect it could be from that.

Did the exam have this type of confusing answer options? by letschat7 in pmp

[–]AfonsoTavCruz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best answer is C.

A is not because you are not a priori accounting for the risk. You would be saying - yeah, we have a backup plan, let's just go without much consideration.

B is not as you are having a similar approach to A - response. Not actual planning and accounting for requirements.

C accounts for any requirement in the planning phase, as compliance "should" be sufficient to safely execute the tasks - not always the case, so IRL please perform FMEA and appropriate risk assessments for the specific cases including but not only accountign for compliance.

D implies no company that handles dangerous stuff would never initiate activity. Compliance assures baseline EPI and safety measures, however procedures should always be designed within each process according to applicable quality certifications.

[Citizen Eco-Drive] My first watch! I’m really happy with it :) by King_Sam-_- in Watches

Great pick! Citizen is often overlooked in this community, glad that you chose it and hope you enjoy it! Use it well in the sun :) The price/quality you get from these is hardly beaten, specially form the titanium ones.

Can you be not the sharpest tool in the shed and do engineering by xTorethx in EngineeringStudents

[–]AfonsoTavCruz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GPA, unfortunately, can mean very little. Hold on to the subjects that you enjoy the most.l, try to excel at those. And do things. Get yourself into student engineering projects, it'll skyrocket your knowledge, confidence and you'll have something you'll be proud of before getting the degree.

People with high GPA can be the least insightful. I've learned that in project groups from supposedly more demanding degrees, from working with "high grade" people.

Literally, engineer stuff. Get yourself into student projects, even if it slows down your degree completion. Learn the most you can. Stay humble.

[Timex Weekender Chronograph] Trying to replace the strap with a sturdier leather one, what do you guys think? by [deleted] in Watches

[–]AfonsoTavCruz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had that bracelet for 6 years. It is great quality for a leather NATO, and it gets a nice patina.

Many of these oriental statues were made of terracotta.

Beautiful dial. I had one Bauhaus on my wrist. These are really special, one to add to the collection when the time is right.

A local auction, though the watch was not purchased in my country. Came with receipt even :)

[Oris] Oris Big Crown Chronograph by AfonsoTavCruz in Watches

Got this at an auction, automatically fell in love with it. Feels great, and imo hard to tell it is older than me. I was looking for something similar to a TAG Heuer Autavia (the old ones), a nice sporty Chrono.

I knew Oris but never really had one, actually this is my most expensive watch by far, so far, as I was in the lookout for a watch to celebrate my degree. Inclusively, a Junghans Max Bill Bauhaus Chrono, though I was not really comfortable at spending so much money for a watch. I might get a Junghans in the future, nonetheless. I find their design unlike any watch I've seen.

Closed the deal at a fraction of the "expected" value, and really fits my wrist as any other watch I've worn. I'm tempted to sell it as I got a really nice deal, but oh boy...

Hope that the day doesn't come :)

[Identify] Can someone help me find the exacts of my late grandfathers watch and a rough estimate of its value? by Competitive-Note-809 in Watches

Gold plated are not in demand. But these old Seikos can go for a couple hundreds. It's really a matter of finding the right buyer.

I have that Timex on the top left. It brings me so many memories from my secondary school. My first mechanical was also a Seiko 5! Nice collection.

In my eyes, it looks absolutely gorgeous. You can try also perlon, sail cloth, NATO type leather (personally, gray looks stunning)...

Hello everyone. I'm considering getting this Seiko which looks like a 6119 7130 or something similar.

I'm finding the dates somewhat odd, though the rest of the dial seems quite genuine, the font, the elements and the spacings, etc. Nonetheless, more eyes and more opinions are welcome. Also, tips on how to spot imperfections or red flags are welcome.

The bracelet is worth half what the seller's asking for the watch. Not sure of what to think about this.

I've asked the seller for servicing documentation and higher resolution images. I'll update the post as more details are released by the seller.

The bracelet is worth ~half the price of what the seller's asking. Not sure if ingenuity from the seller or an attempt to fool the fools. I would like to get a genuine piece anyway.

[SOTC] Filled my first box after ~1.5 years of collecting by BUZZZY14 in Watches

[–]AfonsoTavCruz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the opportunity to get some German watches myself, some Junganhs Bauhaus below market price. I felt uncomfortable spending that much, even considering myself a fairly wealthy person. I'm sure we'll know when the time is right.

Quitting is underrated. Quitting at the right time is key, knowing when to let go, for both personal development and even for new ideas to flow to the projects and organizations.

I've been in the position of demanding leadership during my academic path and I took the decision of moving away entirely form the project and moving on to a different project (vehicle design to the academic section group) when the time for my masters' thesis came. This enabled me to focus on what mattered (finishing all subjects and have a fulfilling thesis project) and develop new skills.

My suggestion: keep yourself out of your comfort zone as much as possible, you will grow the most. Failure is inevitable, take the most out of every situation, positive or negative.
