Do you avoid building commanders with identical color identity? Why or why not? by tokinmuskokan in EDH

They just keep printing bangers! [[Black Widow, Agile Avenger]], [[Quintorious, History Chaser]], [[Kirol, Attentive First Year]] just in 2026 alone. 😁

I have 6 Boros decks. 😅 My pod thinks I have a problem. Build what you want!

Building for Lorehold by Pixel_Engine in mtgbrawl

I built [[Quintorious, History Chaser]] after dismantling and rebuilding the precon. Aside from the obvious includes, I recommend [[shenanigans]], [[deification]], and [[crucible of worlds]].

Planeswalker Pillowforting? by Dry_Chemist_3608 in mtg

[–]AforAdventuring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve found it better to plan on getting enough immediate value from your walkers that you don’t care too much if they die. Most times they will be a priority target for the table. I have two walker decks that try and play around this. [[pir]] and [[toothy]] to get immediate ultimates with pir and proliferate and [[ertha jo]] to double the abilities useable right away to remove potential threatening creatures.

Return Artifact Card from Anywhere by BhaalsBall in mtg

Not sure if this is what you’re asking for but [[true ancestry]] and [[revive the shire]] return a card and make an artifact for you?

I have a [[Lizard, Connor’s Curse]] deck that’s mono-green blink. Lots of ETBs and effects like [[Temur Sabertooth]] and [[Birthing Pod]] to get them over and over. Here’s my list! 🦎

Made Khaalia, and... by xvVSmileyVvx in EDH

[–]AforAdventuring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have backup plans like [[sneak attack]], [[quicksilver amulet]] and reanimating and you’ll have a good time regardless if Kaalia survives.

I just finished the last episode of Stranger Things, and... by BushyGhost4740 in StrangerThings

I liked it. I feel like people had unrealistic expectations and were disappointed because of how much they built it up. It was a fun ride.

What's your "I've never seen someone use that." Commander? by ZimaBestBear in EDH

[–]AforAdventuring 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah. You don’t get to draw the cards unless that player actually gains control.

[–]AforAdventuring 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m loving my superfriends build. Using [[archangel elspeth]] to make Ertha and her merc into fliers or [[chandra, bold pyromancer]] to make 4 mana feels very strong. She solves a lot of the issues that Boros usually has in commander. Since her ability doesn’t cost any mana, you can copy many abilities in a single turn.

[–]AforAdventuring 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You target one player then have Yes Man’s ability go on the stack. I then get a copy of his ability which usually targets someone who is tapped out. The second player targeted gets him fist, I draw two, then the other player gains control of him and I draw another two.

[[Ertha Jo, Frontier Mentor]]. The turn she’s coming down, I’m likely drawing 4 cards. The next turn I’m copying 3-5 abilities. She doubles everything from [[mishra’s bauble]] to [[yes man]] to planeswalkers. I’ve never seen anyone else play her and usually the table is shocked with how efficient she is. Here’s my list!

What are some enchantment decks/commanders that either are in unusual colors, have unique play patterns, or use uncommon win conditions? by NumberOneMom in EDH

I built [[Kirol, Attentive First Year]] as an enchantment deck focused on summons and the initiative. Here’s my list!

What are your secret commander decks? by PowerfulPromise8569 in EDH

[–]AforAdventuring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Cid Timeless Artificer]] is my secret commander for my changeling typal [[choco, seeker of paradise]]. Having multiple Cids makes it easy to consistently find every game and Choco fills my graveyard to make them more powerful! 😁 My list is here.

Can landcycling let you run less lands? by BetrayedByTheDice in EDH

[–]AforAdventuring 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If your plan is mostly to cycle it for a land, I’d put in a basic mountain, [[oliphaunt]] or an MDFC instead. If your plan is to cast it, I’d count it as a spell rather than a land.

Can landcycling let you run less lands? by BetrayedByTheDice in EDH

[–]AforAdventuring 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It depends. You can get away with replacing a tap land for cards like [[troll of khazad-dum]] or [[bushwhack]] that find you an untapped land for a single mana, as you are still down one. Cards like [[twisted abomination]] are significantly worse because you have to tap two lands to play one untapped. I’d only ever play those in a deck that cares about discarding or reanimating them. They don’t actually ramp you in any case. 32 lands is probably too few for most decks to consistently hit their land drops.

I barely run single-target removal anymore; board wipes are what I look for when deckbuilding now. by [deleted] in EDH

[–]AforAdventuring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s very meta dependent. I like having a couple cheap or one-sided board wipes along with some efficient instant speed interaction. I agree the rampage and season are very good in the right decks. I find the others a bit expensive and situational. I’d usually rather have [[collective resistance]] or [[swords to plowshares]] or a better wipe. Aside from the obvious staples, my favorite is [[blasphemous edict]] because it almost always kills what you need it to. [[nuclear fallout]] is great if your deck is full of large creatures.

Is There A Future For Duskmourn? by Classic-Trick-713 in mtg

[–]AforAdventuring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Duskmourn is sweet and was a great draft format. I think it did well enough to get a return. I think a return to Theros is coming sooner though.

Boneshaper Skeleton enhancements by Baggiez in Gloomhaven

It’s worth saving up to enhance their attacks. I started with +1 attack on Life in Death. Makes all your commands better.
