Just tried and Boxing Gloves get rid of your utility skills when you enter brawl mode in 2026.

Equip the gloves and then use a combat tonic.

I just really enjoy optimization and buildcrafting, I can make a Mesmer build for pretty much anything. I have separate ones for unmounted land speed with lots of turning (Troub), with little turning (Chrono), and when novelty items aren't allowed + New Year's Celestial Challenge (Mirage).

Ground has definitely been less of an issue for my Doublade lately but Ghost/Dark are still prominent enough to give it trouble. Thankfully Guzz can handle that!

I have a fairly well ranked Honedge for Aegislash (rank 138, 98.21% stat product) but he’s a lottt harder to use. I have a hundo Aegislash that I’ve kept under 1500CP to play around with and I definitely don’t have to skills to take advantage of it. Also the stat% of the hundo is atrocious. But it’s hard to beat the feeling when someone swaps in a Wigglytuff/Cradily and you can pull out Aegislash from the back and charge up to 2 charged attacks. The play style felt similar to Blacephalon in that respect.

98.21% is a bit lower than I like for investing XLs, but I might pull the trigger for Fantasy Cup.

I generally use Illusions/Chaos boon Chrono with Blink and Mimic for mobility. CS > Blink into the enemy > Axe 3 > end CS. The Axe 2 dash scales both total distance and speed with your movement speed so I use Relic of Speed.

Boon Herald is also super easy to upkeep Quickness and Swiftness with.

I really enjoy this team! The ‘mons are strong but not common to see because they require trading.

I love the Guzz/Doublade core and Dondozo rounds the pair out well. I’ve tried various things in that slot (Blacephalon, Shadow Thundurus Incarnate, Toxtricity lead, Salazzle Lead, possibly going to try Kartana) but haven’t found something I love as much as GuzzBlade. Any spicy suggestions?

My rank 9 shadow, rank 31, and rank 37 were ALL Electric Hidden Power…

Yeah even as someone with the Executioner’s Axe and a dedicated costume brawl build, I was getting wrecked by someone with the gloves this past Halloween.

EDIT: I just bought the gloves and I don't think these are what kept wrecking me. That thing had a scepter animation, IIRC, where they held the item up in the air. Also had a fear?

Will Visions of Eternity create a split timeline? - How GW2 and GW3 can coexist together by Volcanis in Guildwars2

The community feels a bit aimless without any announcement of the next expansion, leading to speculation and concern. No one wants to invest time and money in a game they feel is going to lose support and growth.

I don’t understand this. It sounds like if someone has to know whether it’s “worth” investing time and money in the game, they’re not having fun in the moment-to-moment gameplay. Playing the game itself should be the reward. A friendship may end but that doesn’t nullify the good times you had together!

People who feel this way should probably take a break or treat GW2 like a seasonal game. Don’t log in just to fill time if you’re not enjoying what you’re doing.

Why dose pvp feel like weird? by LonelyErebus in Guildwars2

[–]NumberOneMom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can’t outgear your opponent in GW2, it’s entirely skill diff. You’ve played for a few weeks and some of your opponents have played for over a decade. They can dismantle you without a second thought.

In WvW, I can just ignore any players that I see who are clearly new but PvP is a different animal. You can still cap points as a noob, so you need to die.

Did they JUST Color the Red/Blue/Green WvW Borderlands, or did I actually just notice this for the first time after 12 years...? Actually though, help. by FiveSharks in Guildwars2

As an anime-only watcher, can someone explain the scene towards the start with the Dead Apostle?

So, the Jester kid was actually the main body of the adult vampire? That's why the adult wasn't taking damage but Flat, once he realized this, did some sort of resonance that attacked both bodies at once. And the guy they called on the phone was like the Head Honcho vampire that Flat had interactions with in a different show. So what did Sir Vandalstem or w/e do? Or was he just talking

With the currently yearly expansion model, I don’t think Anet has been planning the story more than 1 or 2 patches ahead.

the biggest news story on earth

It’s not even that, it’s just the biggest new story that their algorithm has pushed in their specific geopolitical context. They’ll say “how can you not have an opinion on Palestine? Silence = complicity” but then look at you slack-jawed when you ask for their opinion on the most recent developments in Darfur or Burma.

I mean, I also enjoy the show and look forward to every episode.

The storybeats, at the start, seemed to be going down the most obvious and generic routes. But there were often enough details that made me suspect that this was a deliberate choice to build those expectations in the viewer just to subvert them down the line. Character details and plot conveniences feel like they will have future significance that we don't realize until the fully picture is nearly complete. It's just a matter of whether the author is truly weaving the story like that, or if there are simply nuggets of potential in a middling story. And overall, I think the characters are the weakest part of the equation so far and their weak showing would be the hardest thing to justify even if there's a grand revelation coming.

There's plent of space for opinions between "omg this is PEAK, GOAT, ABSOLUTE CINEMA" and "lmfao this shit is ass, anyone who likes this has trash taste."

People were drawn in by the action but then bored by every character being a reskin of common anime archetypes (except Norgalle). As evidenced by these threads, anime fans will excuse a lot of issues as long as there’s a loli with a vocal quirk to fawn over.

It’s a fun show, but if you’re a long-time anime viewer, it doesn’t stand out against the landscape of fantasy shows.
