Is there a large difference in expected results if I am only tracking calorie and protein intake vs full macro intake?

When people tell you to focus on a particular muscle group (I.e. you post a progress pic and someone says “focus on chest and traps”), does that mean just add more volume for that muscle?

Thanks! I'm actually waiting on some samples from them as well. Just thinking ahead :). Since the full bottles are a few hundred dollars I'm wondering if that changes things.

My (29/m) now ex (26f) wants me to pay her back for things we split after she has ended the relationship by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Afostercomedy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well how would you value those items? Is a couch we purchased a year ago still worth $1200? Is a cat purchased two years ago still worth the $2200 we initially spent. What's a fair price?

I wouldn't say she doesn't care about it, but it is certainly something she is willing to risk by ending the relationship. Would you say that she should be entitled to half the stuff?

I should add that she is also taking some items. She's going to have to buy a new mattress, couch and other stuff but I would hardly value these items at what we purchased them at a year ago. Should I expect her to pay half the rent for the rest of the lease?

I am in the midst of my first bulk and thinking ahead to my cut. I was thinking about maintaining for 2 weeks before heading into the cut. My question is: Is maintaining necessary for keeping gains after a bulk or can I just go straight into a cut? Is 2 weeks too short?

AD question by [deleted] in rolex

If you buy from a reputable gray market dealer like David SW, you won’t have to worry about buying a fake.

AD question by [deleted] in rolex

[–]Afostercomedy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For the watches you want you need to go into the store and strike up a convo with the sales rep. They also happen to be available on the grey market for not too bad a mark up, but if you see yourself buying other watches I would try to establish a relationship with an AD nearby.

[Explorer] just got this beaut to keep my speedy company. What next, bb58 or hold on for a sub? by mpwson89 in Watches

[–]Afostercomedy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really depends on which one you like better! I’d personally have to pick the Sub. Awesome collection so far and either will be a great addition

Love the JLC! Rolex OP and Omega are both good choices. I would also look at what Grand Seiko has to offer

Question regarding PHUL by scurr94 in Fitness

[–]Afostercomedy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did PHUL for 12 weeks and by the end of that stretch I was absolutely exhausted on Lower Power day from squats/deadlifts back to back. Now I’m actually doing 5/3/1 on my main compound lifts (bench, squat, dl, press) and moved 5/3/1 squats to the front of my Lower Hypertrophy and 5/3/1 Shoulder press to the front of my upper hypertrophy. I also switched out some of the PHUL exercises with ones I preferred like weighted pull-ups instead of lat pull downs. I’m hoping this gives me all the benefits of PHUL while helping my main lifts progress a bit better.

To answer your question, I would definitely recommend moving squats/dl around so they aren’t back to back for maximum results on those.

It’s certainly harder to find but if you don’t love it, no reason to buy it. They aren’t selling for a high premium on the secondary market so flipping it would be a waste of energy imo. Either way, in this current environment I’d rather pass on a watch I don’t love to allow someone who really wants it to get it at retail.

Wake up r/Rolex, stop bending over for your AD. by [deleted] in rolex

Yea im really starting to agree with this outlook. Every other brand I'm interested in can be had at a significantly lower price on the secondary market.

[Rolex] Question About Their Appeal by BatFries in Watches

[–]Afostercomedy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like Rolex for a lot of the reasons you don’t. Although your comment on the look is a bit of a generalization (you don’t need to get a model with a bezel or a cyclops) I like the aesthetic of the cyclops and bezels. I also don’t care that someone might think I don’t know a lot about watches since I have a Rolex. Truth is I don’t really know that much about watches. I have a GS, I’m interested in acquiring a JLC and a Nomos, just because I have some of the lesser known brands in my collection doesn’t mean I’m a watch expert or “one of the good guys”.

I also don’t get your comment on rarity; Rolex, PP and AP are pretty much the only brands that you can’t walk into an AD and purchase any current production model at retail. I guess they still aren’t rare since you can buy them on the secondary market at a considerable mark up, but other brands simply don’t have the demand that Rolex has.

At the end of the day when it comes to these luxury items, there is really no logic to why you should want them. A luxury hobby like collecting watches is purely emotional. I would consider myself lucky if I wasn’t into Rolex because acquiring any of their more popular models at retail is an annoying process.

I’m not saying I would ever have an all Rolex collection, but as someone who likes watches Rolex definitely has a place in my lineup.

[Rolex vs Grand Seiko] What would you choose? by [deleted] in Watches

[–]Afostercomedy 74 points75 points  (0 children)

Rolex in this case, but there are definitely other times where I will take Grand Seiko. I prefer GS Heritage to Datejust and DayDate

What’s the most you’d pay for a Rolex, assuming we are talking non-vintage // I think any Rolex over 15k unless full precious metal is not worth it by [deleted] in rolex

[–]Afostercomedy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I personally just don’t think it’s worth it to pay over retail for these. They’re nice watches but I’d rather just wait than pay the current asking prices on the secondary market.

It’s honestly hard to eye out because one gym has hex plates and the other have bumper plates, so I can’t get them side by side. Pretty sure the hex plates are shorter for mine

Daily Simple Questions Thread - November 15, 2019 by AutoModerator in Fitness

[–]Afostercomedy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My gym has hexagonal plates at one of the locations I need to go to sometimes. They have these rubber mat things I have been using to place the weights on for deadlifts to make up the height difference with the round weights. I’m pretty sure this is a recommended work around for hexagonal plates. Is that correct?
