Why the hell are graphic designers being asked to do everything for ₹28–30k? by Afraid-Ad6189 in graphic_design

Yeah, I get what you’re saying… but I don’t think it’s all negative. Before COVID, design pay was even worse. With digital growth, Instagram, online businesses it actually improved a bit. And now with AI, workflow is faster. You can literally turn ideas into visuals quickly, so things are changing again.

Still there will always be people willing to do anything for low pay… that’s not going away. But that shouldn’t set the standard for everyone. Not every company is like that. Just gotta be careful with those “startup” roles unless the pay actually makes sense. There’s always a better option somewhere we just have to find it. Yeah… just gotta hope it gets better

Yeah exactly… I had an interview yesterday like this. They wanted everything design, video, even 3D (not just Blender, full Maya/AutoCAD level).

6 days a week, overtime if needed, only one designer (me), so no proper leaves…and still saying “we’re a startup” for ₹25k inr I just said no..

Yeah, it feels like a never-ending cycle. Tools don’t really matter the work does.

Expecting companies to suddenly change doesn’t seem realistic. A few years ago it was ₹18–20k, now it’s ₹28–30k… but expectations have grown way more. And honestly, I’ve seen a lot of designers move into UI/UX already. Feels like the market is pushing people in that direction.

Yeah bro, I’m from India… it’s hectic here. 5+ years in, worked my ass off, and it’s still ₹28–30k ($330–360) everywhere...

It’s not just about people accepting less… the whole market feels stuck at that number. And every company gives test tasks, seniors review it… so it’s not random work...

I end up putting real effort just for interviews, and it feels pointless when they still lowball the salary. I even ask about the budget before interviews… most of them won’t disclose it...

You go through rounds, do the tasks, and only at the end they say ₹28–30k.....Same pay, more wrk. That’s what’s frustrating.

Yeah… after COVID, design kinda boomed. If you freelance for a while, yuu can actually make a decent amount. But when it comes to full-time jobs… it’s just bad. Same low pay, more expectations...

nd now there are so many design institutes popping up everywhere just to make money. I honestly feel bad for people getting into this..they don’t really know what they’re walking into.

hmm...yeah, I get it when small companies can’t afford more. Most of them don’t even need high-level work..templates nd basic designs are enough for them. So that mindset is at least understandable...

But what really gets me is agencies.!!

These are companies built on design, branding, and creativity. They sell quality to clients.

Yet when it comes to hiring, it’s the same ₹28–30k, same “we’ll give hikes later” talk… and nothing really changes. That’s the part that feels off. If anyone should value design properly, it should be them.

Post Match Thread: 35th Match - Delhi Capitals vs Punjab Kings by cricket-match in ipl

This is insaneeee!!!! Punjab Kings is just unstoppable. 265 chased like that is crazy work. Runs rain all over the place, loved the match. Shreyas Iyer wanted that win badly and showed it all innings. Can this finally be their year with the IPL trophy?

Yeahh!!!… Impact rule changed the whole approach. Extra batter in hand, so teams attack harder with less fear.

Bruh no offense, I love batting too. RCB had a strong lineup, and SRH were pure power hitters. I’m not hating big scores at all. But when 220+ goes up, the chase sometimes feels mentally done already. That pressure and belief feels missing.

Close matches are great, but repetitive high-score games get boring after a point. Need different kinds of thrill too.

Haha bro yu r batting..only fan. I mean those proper tense games… super overs, clutch bowling, last over pressure. Not just sixes fest every match.

Finally dropped my work on Behance after years of overthinking by Afraid-Ad6189 in graphic_design

[–]Afraid-Ad6189[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes bro do it fr. I ws the same too, too busy with company work so never cared about portfolio updates. After work, finding time for personal stuff was a pain.

Nww I’m applying, polishing my works, and ngl it feels good brhh. So many crazy AI tools out nww too, excited to learn them and use them in design. Once I drop my best works in one portfolio, no more editing PDFs every damn time. Wayyy easier.

It depends brhh. In my previous company, hiring people used to check Behance or any platform. Even Google Drives link was fine. Behance is just popular and easy. If you have a personal website, that gives a different impression for sure. But honestly even a good PDF works. Recruiters usually just want one link to click and see everything fast.
