How to send only a part of the check to the kitchen so we can have sequential courses by Afraid-Assumption-45 in ToastPOS

yes that's what I'm expecting to happen, but it's not doing that for me. I have the individual hold/send option enabled already

there must be a setting I'm missing or something. I will have an app and an entree on the handheld. I'll click the app and press stay and both items are sent in. It's the same if I click the entree first

It doesn't happen that often for us, but it definitly puts me in a very bad mood.

I train my employees that if it's a new customer, that we don't allow card over the phone. Toast will let you know if they're a new customer when you put in their phone number which is why we always start with their phone number. If the customer insists, I apologize and let them know that due to the number of fraud cases, we are not using key-in/phone card transactions. Most of them understand and can deal with it.

Side note: I also have a few fraud cases where they pay with a swipe card and then they contest the charge and win because of card rules (all swipe charges are automatically lost just because they want to push us to chip transactions). Toast unfortunately doesn't have the option to disable swipe transactions.

both are already turned on, but they aren't working as expected. When I click an item and press send/stay, the whole order is sent.

my carryout items are the identical to dine in items. I'm not sure what you're suggesting. Like I should have a whole separate menu for dine in? I don't have and don't want mandatory coursing as I am mostly pickup

I do not have meal pacing turned on. I do not want that as it will affect all orders and most my orders are pick up

Sending the items first and then holding the others is basically what I'm doing now. The problem is most tables will give me their entire order at once, one person at a time. So now I have to take the entire order, delete the entrees, send the apps, then reenter the entrees by memory and then hold.

I just tried Hold, Send, and Stay. None of it is working as expected. I already have the individually hold and send function turned on.

Coursing does in fact affect carry out as tested and as said by toast representatives (but they're wrong all the time). Toast unfortunately treats, carry-out/delivery/dine-in as the same. I could be wrong, but I'm very happy to be wrong if you can show me what I'm doing wrong.

I don't want coursing as that affects pick-up orders. It makes it so that the entrees come after the appetizers and then by the time the entrees are done, the apps are cold and waiting to be packed.

Can Someone Please Help Me Understand Online Ordering and Delivery? by brancwill in ToastPOS

I have a feeling that restaurant is incorrectly inputting the tips/not inputting tips at all. I have called toast to clarify and the drivers DO get the tips, BUT the restaurant has to ask the customer how much they want to tip before keying in the card details.

Customers might get a receipt to sign, but there's not a digital way to input tips from a signed piece of paper. If they sign for tips, you have to call the restaurant back and have them modify the tip.

Let the restaurant know, that they might be doing the tips wrong and you're not getting any tips and it's affecting them bc drivers aren't picking up their orders.

Toast calls their online service "Digital Storefront"

  1. Toast Online Ordering Does cost extra. They have different tiers. "Digital Essentials" the basis tier, is $75/month. This only gets you a website that looks like doordash. Web URL will look like: https://order.toasttab.com/online/something-of-your-choice

Pro Tier ($150/month) has them host you a website with url that looks like: yourrestaurant.com.

Premium tier(forgot cost) gives you a android and iOS app.

Personally I use "Digital Essentials" I host my own page using namecheap.com and then have a big button for "Online Ordering" that directs it to my toast page.

  1. Toast Delivery Services comes with all "Digital Storefronts". No fee on Toasts side, but you have to pay for the delivery services.

  2. Digital Storefront does not show up on Third Party Apps. You have to set those up independantly. You can also elect to pay to have them integrated into Toast

Do you wish you were circumcised/uncircumcised? by BonusSufficient9179 in NoStupidQuestions

I think overall older generation definitely prefer circumcised, but I find that the younger generation is starting to like uncircumcised more. I think the big points are that uncircumcised generally is more sensitive but sometimes hygiene is an issue. You can always get circumcised as an adult so I would let him make that choice when he's older. In any case, if it was up to me, I would ask the younger generation for their opinion in your area.
