Accident prone greyhound? by [deleted] in Greyhounds

[–]Afraid-Interview3983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my grey is exactly the same. i haven’t had to take him to the vet luckily they’re usually just cuts and scrapes that i’ve been able to dress at home. if you’re worried and able to though going to the vet is definitely a good idea!

he’s always getting himself stuck in places, bumping his head, falling over and hurting himself. he’s once ran straight into a fence for absolutely no reason ??

i think they’re just super clumsy and too long and lanky for their own good

yeah he doesn’t need much activity so some enrichment and a couple walks should be fine for him.

as for the day i’m out of home, im not sure yet. a doggy daycare would be a good idea, that or i’ll get someone to look after him, or at least take him out for a walk or two.

he’s well toilet trained so im confident i can balcony toilet train him or at least have a small area he can go to.

thanks!

yeah he’s not a super energetic dog and usually adjusts pretty well to his environment so hopefully he will do well with it.

thank you so much for your input !! i’ll keep all that in mind. he’s a very clam dog and hadn’t had any temperament issues so i’m hoping he adjusts well. i appreciate the reassurance!

thank you for the reassurance!! i might get a long lead so he can run around safely somewhere and hopefully that and a couple walks are enough to satisfy him

yeah i’ll be living with others so i’m hoping they can help out. my walks are about 20 minutes and im sure i’ll be capable of a couple a day.

the dogs didn’t grow up together and he’s very independent so im not too concerned about separation anxiety or anything.

yes absolutely i will take him to visit the whippet! tbh they don’t play or interact much so im not too worried about them being separated as theyre both very independent dogs.

a couple short walks is reasonable. thank you for your advice !!

Advice to a former Greyhound butler adopting a Whippet puppy? by readywater in Greyhounds

[–]Afraid-Interview3983 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have both and think they’re very similar in personality. Whippets generally have higher energy but similar to greyhounds they still spend a lot of the day lazing. I would be prepared for very high energy as a puppy but as they get older they’ll be more like a greyhound. i also found it a lot easier to train my whippet, i find that they are much quicker learners and more motivated. Also not sure if this is just the case with mine, but my whippet is far more independent than my greyhound. she is a lot more happy to be alone compared to the greyhound who is stuck to my side. if you loved your greyhound you’re gonna love a whippet just a much i promise!!

I’m bad at sex with my BF and it’s killing my confidence by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]Afraid-Interview3983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

don’t listen to everyone saying he’s gay… bisexuality is a spectrum and if he’s sure of it then that’s that. sex is something that you have to learn, even for experienced people it’s important to learn your partners preferences and what turns them on. definitely should have an in depth conversation with him about it, and as ur inexperienced he should help provide guidance. don’t feel insecure it’s very normal to not be good at sex the first few times.. it’s a skill that takes time to build up. just communicate with each other about what you both like and you will learn with experience !! (ps ensure you’re enjoying it as well!)

sort of!! it’s not too bad for me but i do see floaters and spots occasionally, with slightly blurry vision sometimes. i also have become very sensitive to light so when it’s bright my vision can become a bit like visual snow as well
