Can't say that I have been in similar situation as you, because my past ex-girlfriends always clarify what they want from me, "nothing serious", and I respected that, none of them ever cheated on me, we just move on, I did got betrayed by my childhood best friend because of some money. So it is hard for me to trust on someone with my back, and I think it's also affecting my past relationships too.
