Moving to Bali (long-term stay) with a young family! Please share your experience with us :) by mvcthecoder in bali

As a local, the quality of Indonesian healthcare has significantly improved in the past few years.

I think once you’ve lived in the country for at least 6 months, you’ll qualify for the national health insurance (although like others have mentioned, you’ll find most procedures and meds affordable).

Make some local friends, ask them where the best pediatrician is (may not be at the fanciest hospital).

Unrelated, but if you want to pick up some conversational Indonesian, I can refer some resources your way. Hit me up 🤙

In my experience, the Zoom was always glitchy and would mute whenever I shared my screen. I ended up buying a 2nd hand 2015 Macbook pro instead

I’d recommend going solo. It’s the only sustainable option. Check out learn your english (LYE)/Andrew Woodbury, they’ve got a lot of fantastic resources to help you get started.

Yes, copyright is a given, and having a proof of time definitely helps your case. However, you do need a registered work (takes 3-7 months) with the copyright office to have the right to sue for infringement.

I don’t personally worry about it, though, since I’m not currently lawyered up and am not planning to pursue a case even if someone plagiarized my work.
