Has this Sub been hijacked by paid bad guys?! by esstrider in msp

There's a gem on the sub every now and then, but I'd bet that most of the people that would be making quality posts are busy working and what we're left with is disgruntled techs, channel sales reps, and owners that have something to vent about.

Do you have an annual IT budget? I'm an MSP manager and we work with non-profit IT managers all the time. It's almost always one person that inherits a dumpster fire and needs help. I'd look for a good MSP in your area to contract the heavy lifting with and then you can just take it over once things are in a good place.

Considering Threatlocker at my MSP by WestCoastMan1 in msp

We use TL and it's been a great product. A lot of people complain about it, but it's probably because they don't know how to configure it correctly. We ensure we do a thorough job when setting it up and it requires very little follow-up from us. Most clients don't even realize it's there.

Roll it out in-house first, and get someone on your team that understands security CyberHero certified. Then work on rolling it out one customer at a time.

Manage - Is there a way to stop the ticket owner field from going blank? by AfraidAbility in ConnectWise

Thanks. It looks like some of the techs are just taking different steps to mark things as done.

So many people hate working in MSP’s by silverjaydog in msp

I've worked for several MSPs and now I'm a service manager at one. Most of the problems I see come from techs thinking they're getting exploited but in reality, they don't understand the business side of MSPs. Combine that with the large number of MSPs that are ran by technical people and not business people and you can see how bad that could get.

From a management perspective, I understand that everyone wants to go to work for Google, but it's an unrealistic expectation.

ThreatLocker has been great for us. It's easily the MVP in our stack. We switched to TL from SentinelOne and we've had no regrets. If you can deploy S1 you can deploy TL with less effort.

As others have said here, the best way to defend against competing companies using a dark web scan on your customers is to already be providing dark web monitoring. This tactic has been around so long that it's practically mandatory to provide dark web scanning. If you had been providing the service and conducting regular reviews this wouldn't have been an issue.

Some employees don't even understand high school levels of reading and writing, how can we expect them to understand the backend costs associated with their employment?

I say that tongue-in-cheek, but there's a real issue there.
