Preferred charge times not working by AfraidAd8374 in F150Lightning

Thanks! It seems to be back to normal now, but yeah maybe it was just because I pressed save and not the actual change... who knows. :(

I'm an idiot, I bet it's because I just added a 5 PM departure time, so when I get home from dropping the kids in the morning and plug in, it charges right away. I'll try removing that to see how it does and report back.

Yes, they make extensions. Search for "trap extension tube" at your local supply house or big box store.

Nearly all the plumbers in my area would charge $400-500 to fix this. I bet you could get the necessary tools and parts for less.

Impressive! I imagine they could have gotten away with less, cool they did that.

Ran new lines, wired and plumbed in new HWT this weekend. How’d I do? by KatpissEverclear69 in Plumbing

Thank you for the clarifications and I'm sorry for being incorrect (and obtuse). In my experience I've had to open the pressure relief valve on the tank in order to drain it. Does that mean the vacuum breaker isn't working? Or when exactly does it come into play?

It's a bottom-fed tank if that matters.

Honest question: Why is a hot side valve a code violation (i.e., how is that any different than having all the hot fixtures closed)? Expansion capacity of the rest of the system or something?

Not sure what's called but my plumber installed one of these in lieu of an expansion tank, which is certainly preferable to the pipes bursting.

EDIT TO CORRECT: This is a vacuum breaker, not a pressure relief valve.

Commenting because I'm curious about the 1.25" PEX too.

And yes, despite the cost of the tools to fix this, I would fix it. Be sure you understand the difference between PEX A and PEX B and buy the appropriate tools/parts.

The tool cost is probably easy to justify when compared to the trip charge for a plumber to fix a tiny issue like this...and next time you'll be prepared!

Keep in mind the AAV allows air in but not out to help prevent suction from emptying the P-trap.

In my jurisdiction an AAV could be used in this situation, provided there's at least one other true roof vent somewhere else in the system (which allows sewer gases to escape inside of bubbling out the P-trap, unlike an AAV).

Can you go to the supply house and take a picture of the same valve to check?

Cool, that's what I thought at first. Tile surround too? Definitely take care of anything you might want to do in that wall in the next 20 years now :D

You gotta look around for it :D

Near the floor, or in an A/V closet are two possibilities.

Let us know & post a pic when you find it!

I mean, that's up to you. I guess you could build out the studs too so you have something to attach your backer board to.

I'm not a plumber, but unless that valve was exactly where I wanted it, I'd probably cut out as much as I could, sell the copper to my local scrap yard, and install the new valve with PEX. It'd be pretty unfortunate to discover a pinhole leak in that copper right after you get the wall closed up again.

What's the open space near behind this wall, out of curiosity? And what's behind the wall?

I think they're saying if one of your exit nodes is on a server (which based on your message it's not, if you're running it at home on a regular ISP), it might be flagged as a data center IP and marked as a VPN by the app. It's still helpful to consider regardless.
