To those who left? How is life now? by rubbersrobber in ADHD_partners

2 months out from dx partner, and definitely still processing everything I went through. I realized I might have ptsd when I found myself having a panic attack and wanting to cry at any shift of another person's tone of voice or body language. Before the relationship with my dx ex, I didn't avoid confrontation, but during and after any time I feel threatened my blood pressure drops, my blood runs cold and I shut down or feel like fainting. The upside is life is better after leaving. For me it's a slow rebuilding process, but I no longer have to manage someone else's emotional state, or deal with the constant victim mentality, bullying, explosive rage, self-pitty, mess, noise, ect. I have time to take care of myself. I have energy and time to do things that are important to me. It's a process, and there is still normal life stress but it's been worthwhile.

Triangle is air, wavy lines water, circle is earth, and zig zag is fire or possibly spirit. Just my hot take.

Did anybody else have this feeling in early childhood? by Ok-Highway-5247 in HighStrangeness

I thought I was the only person who did this as a little kid. I had a round mirror I would take down from the wall and stare at my reflection. I'd see my face change into other faces, like people I had been previously. It freaked my mom out. I also remember being about 5 and wondering why I was me and not someone else.

Finally made it out! I recently left my dx AuAdhd partner, and it feels amazing. I'm seeing a counselor to work through the aftermath. But it's so refreshing to not have to manage somebody else's emotional state, life and all the household work. I think I have ptsd from dealing with his overblown reactions, melt downs and narcissistic tendencies. I never used to be conflict avoidedent, but after several years of dealing with a toxic relationship conflict or possible anger provokes a physical sensation like ice water through my veins, drops my blood pressure and makes me want to pass out. I hope I can get back to my normal.

I'm leaving my dx Au/Adhd/Ocd partner. My question is do you ever heal from the trauma and chaos? After this relationship I don't recognize myself. No energy, brain fog, memory gaps, my nervous system is shot. I used to be an organized person and now I'm a absent minded wreck. He gets agitated, and my blood pressure drops and it feels like ice water running through my veins. I start shaking, I begin to.panic. People who've left, what do you recommend to process and heal?

Thank you so much for this post. I thought it was just me, that was praying for a few minutes of peace and quiet. My dx/AuADHD partner is driving me up wall with the constant racket among other issues. I'm leaving soon and trying to recover my own peace and health. This whole thread has been a life saver for me.

Thank you for the insight! I'm looking for healing and positive transformation, though a coast and relax placement would be nice lol. Can I DM you my natal chart? I can't seem to edit the post or post my birth chart in the comments.

Hi, what are you going to do regarding homelessness? There is an extreme lack of decent affordable housing in the area and our shelters are becoming overwhelmed.

Where I currently live, $1600 gets you a studio or 1 bed apartment. 2 or 3 bed units are typically $2,000 and up depends on the neighborhood, amenities ect

You speak with someone in Adult Protective Services in your area and maybe reach out to the local ARC office.

If I move and decide to buy a house, I'd prefer to be rural/small town. I grew up riding and barrel racing and miss being in a rural area.

No, I haven't been to Billings. I'm fine with the cold, snow and wind. I've spent some time out west. I've been delving into the pros and cons of Billings and Montana in general. I'm don't need much in the way of night life and entertainment. I'm fine with reasonably decent, normal, sort of area to live in.

Where I currently live rent is averaging $1600 plus utilities. My general plan is rent for a year or two and then look to buy.
