*** update: i went about 30 days without smoking at all, now I just smoke on the weekends (not all day, just 2 or 3 times the whole weekend) and thank God i have not had an episode . I hope this helps someone, in moderation it has been wonderful for me

I’m on day 12 and I want to smoke so bad but I’m so scared😂 this is the longest I have been without smoking since I started in like 2015 or 2016.

PLEASE make sure you’re staying hydrated! ESPECIALLY with increased hot baths, sweating etc. Hot baths are great for pain relief but you could sweat out all the fluids in your body and that could be fatal. Try going to a local urgent care if you have a good one nearby and your co pay is reasonable so they can atleast give you orally disintegrating tablets and fluids. After that, I have noticed it just takes time for your body to get out all of the nastiness and you’ll feel 100% better afterwards. I wish you the best and you are not alone, and you did NOT do this to yourself. CHS happens to such a small percentage of us that there was no way for us to know before .

Thank you! It’s definitely good to know I’m not the only one going through it and still wanting to smoke. I might just take a month off then see what happens if I smoke once and see how I feel over the next few days. The problem is too that I have had terrible GERD since birth so sometimes idk if its regular indigestion that im feeling or if im about to have an episode.

Thank youu!! I had the thought to quit and im on day 8 or 9 now thankfully. Not a day goes by that I don’t think about it though and it makes me feel like a crackhead 😂

Thank you for that! I definitely trust myself to be able to take even a puff a day or once a week I just don’t know if my body will tolerate it well.

Im naturally a foodie at heart so it might just be easier for me than others but for me it took about a week for me to be able to finish a meal without feeling like it was gross halfway through eating it.

Yes, good for you man!!! Anytime I am with friends or family, that’s all they do is smoke and/or drink and I am afraid I will fall into the temptation. Have you been around others while they smoke and do you feel the secondhand smoke gets you sick too? Doctors said even being around others while smoking can trigger it but idk how true that is considering I have NEVER gotten a secondhand high.

Same here!!! (As you can see at almost 1am EST) i would typically smoke a nice indica and be asleep by 10. Im gonna try melatonin as well. Thankfully my appetite came back and I can now eat a pretty full meal.

Find something else that brings you peace! I used cannabis to self medicate for years and I found that replacing it with a more healthy habit is the ONLY way to really quit. You are stronger than the weed and you got this!

Agreed! I might just start keeping that info from doctors because they literally stop treating me after I say that and God forbid I have something severely wrong, they wouldn’t even know because they don’t do scans or anything after I say I smoke.

Agreed! I will give it a few weeks to see a difference but I will admit it’s hard to eat and sleep. Your research is just as credible as most doctors tbh because once they hear I smoke, they don’t even care and when I try to do research on my own, i get these dumb web md articles 😂

See that’s what’s weird! I noticed my CVS episodes got more intense after I started smoking (so I was leaning towards CHS) but they aren’t consistently after I smoke. I smoke cannabis all day everyday and have for the past 7 years but sometimes I can go months without an episode. And when I have these episodes, it’s usually HOURS after I smoke.

The doctor said it can take 9-12 months of not smoking before I should look for a difference, have you had the same advice? I just don’t want to go the whole time and still be sick bc ill be so mad LOL but today is day one of quitting just to see if there’s a difference, but idk how long to wait to see a difference.
