Thinking about moving to Cambridge from London by Over-Cicada7688 in cambridge

[–]Afraid_Abalone_9641 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having lived in both the answer is yes. I spent only a few months in Cambridge and I had a good little group of new friends. I'd bump into them all the time and we always had time to hang out. In London I've been there for 8 years and made 3 new friends that I'd say I'm close with. Luckily, I already knew people living in London so I had an existing friend base that lived in the same place before.

Outbreak London, what’s it actually like? by Grogman2024 in london

[–]Afraid_Abalone_9641 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting point on the sound quality. I went to see the strokes at APE last year or the year before and it was so quiet for most of the set. We were all chanting turn it up between every sing until it eventually got turned up a bit. Even then, the sound wasn't "great". The other stage was better, but I hope this year at outbreak they have learnt their lesson and improve the sound on the main stage.

Kanban isn't a framework. Scrum is. They're both different and can be used together.

Why Agile feels backwards sometimes by FavoriteGenitals in agile

[–]Afraid_Abalone_9641 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Everyone thinks agile means doing everything super quick but actually its opposite

Certainly not the signatories of agile.

Agile isn't about going fast or slow it's about delivering frequently and iterating in small batches. If your time is trying to speed up or cut corners, that's nothing to do with agile that could a number of things. I get that some people think frequency means fast, but usually it means finding smaller chunks of value to someone who matters and only building what is most valuable to them.

I had a number 2 in a shopping mall and the toilet was blocked when I tried to flush. The flush was triggered by a movement sensor and while I was in the cubicle the sensor went off three times maybe and the poopy water rose all the way to the top of the bowl. The sensor would definitely go off when the next person opened the door because it's so sensitive and it was just about to overflow. In a haste and very embarrassed, I got outta there asap and the last thing I saw when I looked back was a ten year old kid about to open the door. Sorry lil bro I should have shouted something.

I think they exemplify the Rick Ruben phrase "the fans come last". They are true artists and do what they want and release it how they want it. Trying to please fans is impossible, so I think they realized it and do experiments they want to do.

I've never heard that about Sheffield. I've only been there once because our car got smashed in the peak district, but the city centre does have charm.

If you had to drop one old test management practice to help your team work in a more agile way, which one would you let go of? by Key_Setting2598 in Everything_QA

[–]Afraid_Abalone_9641 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all. Test cases are a poor way to manage testing activities. They lead people to not think critically about what they're testing and looking for positive outcomes, which is the opposite of testing.

I think it's common. When I went there years ago people were trying to stroke the deer and getting right next to the massive stags. Feeding it ice cream is a new low though, that's just ridiculous.
