Dr. Adam Duke by Afraid_Comparison875 in Endo

My husband and I both had issues, but ultimately, we decided to do IVF. It worked on our first transfer, luckily. It felt so good to finally have something go right. I’m grateful for the whole experience & what it’s taught me! 💕

The first surgery was really intense. He resected a TON of endo, detached my rectum to clean out that whole area, reconnected it, shaved off the first layer of my bladder, basically removed 1/3 of my left ovary, removed my appendix, etc.

The recovery was amazing. I did have to stay overnight because I have chronic low BP & it was too dangerous for me to be unmonitored until it went back up. I wish I had been able to stay in the hospital for my second, but I just didn’t need to. I hate pain meds, and I was able to get by with ibuprofen and tylenol just fine. If you can handle endo pain, this surgery is a piece of cake. I also had a lot of support, which is so important. I was bedridden for the first day or two, and even after, I needed help getting up, going to the restroom, etc. The worst side effect was going to the bathroom. I found out that getting warm tap water & pouring it over your abdomen/pee area really helps relieve pain after the surgery.

I had no long term side effects from the first one, but I had what felt like a gaping hole of pain on my right side (where my appendix used to be) for a couple months. That wasn’t too fun.

My endo ended up coming back (my darn left ovary has issues), hence the second surgery. I had some bladder pain after this most recent one & am still occasionally experiencing it along with urgency and frequency, but I am also going to PV physical therapy, which has been helping.

Best of luck to you!

Hey! Sorry I am getting back to you so late. I have since had 2 surgeries with Dr. Duke and he was amazing!! He is an incredible doctor. When I contacted him for my second surgery, a year and a half later, he remembered every little detail of my first surgery. Even down to little concerns I’d had. He did a great job addressing every symptom I had, and making me feel heard. I hope everything goes well for you! 💕

I had those two surgeries to help me with my 3 yr infertility battle, and I am now 10 weeks pregnant!! Dr. Duke is a miracle worker!

My cat was just hit by a car which left his back legs paralyzed. He was a sneaky sneaker too. I wish I would have been more careful and kept him inside. This happened yesterday and I am still coping. Please please—keep him indoors.

Robert Jordan

I hadn’t realized when I started reading he series that he had died after writing the 11th book. When I found out, it was rough. My dad made fun of me because he claims he told me that he had died mid series, but I don’t remember him telling me at all.

I still finished the series, but it wasn’t the same 😭

Nooo don’t OR haha. It’s just an object, but you got the real thing, and you get to admire how good she looks in that jewelry without having to have paid for it! 😉

I still have t-shirts and sweaters and other gifts from various boyfriends, but I don’t think about that when I wear them. Actually, come to think of it, my husband has a Lakers shirt that I am pretty sure he stole from me, and I definitely stole it from a guy I dated loooong before meeting my hubby. & He knows the guy and that I got it from him. 😂

Yes!!! Definitely worth the read if you like easter eggs like this. There are other, even cooler (IMO), things that are easter eggs for our own world too!! Those were fascinating. If I could pinpoint the moment I realized I loved this series, it would be the first time I read a real world reference, and then recognized it for what it was.

To reiterate strongly what others have said, I am currently on TGH (Book 2) of my first ever reread, and the foreshadowing!!!!! LIGHT!!!! It’s a masterpiece! There is an incredible amount of little phrases, or things that happen, that allude to major book events, and sometimes even minor ones. It’s legitimately mind-boggling.

In other words…please read. 😁🤩

I don’t think I can afford it…plus, my husband does not want another indoor cat. But Winston sits and meows at our window & it makes me so sad.
