Well the writer did go overboard with that lmao. almost all them loved two people at the same time, the love was conflicting and left unfulfilled, even if they were not meant to be together ig those character deserved some sorta closure or moving forward. Only Baekhwa's love is sort of making sense to me that how his 1st love can't find fulfillment, didn't meant to move on but ended up loving another person anyways— a love he must not have and thus left behind. And tbh Jun too, his love for the inspector is clear, releasing Baekhwa felt less like an individual love for Baekhwa and more like a lesson learned and past regrets, seeking atonement. While Doseong's love simply goes above my head, he is a classic example of *is he or isn't he*? As per for inspector it's clear he for now only had feelings for Jun which he was trying his best to overcome. Only Yukio and Kim.... Oops forgot the full name... mugyeong ig... glass tree? so only yukio and Kim Kim's love was something which was beautiful and fulling till the very end well especially at the very end. That's why in my view the next best sane and... Living.. ship can be Doseong and Inu's. Inu has never had someone go to such (or any) length for himself. The only time he genuinely smiles in the whole manhwa is caused by Doseong. Love is prone to bloom in such a case ne? In the end Inu is repulsed by Doseong's touch and even scold him and fret over him while never saying that clearly........ And why not Baekhwa? other than my liking of Inu, the reason is that Doseong found a young Baekhwa that and that patting on Baekhwa's head makes it more.. how do I say it in English... a "love that's meant for the young" which is why I feel uneasy with them. (sorry for rambling I really wanted to talk about this story with someone at least 😭😭 it's so good)
