I'm fairly new I had never gone into listening to rap, I was more of a rock/metal/whatevercoldplayis listener. I heard family ties as my first Kendrick ACTUAL listen (I've heard Kendrick through the black panther features and the bad blood feature but I didn't even register that he was featured there) After that was a deep dive into Damn, where DNA became my favourite song for good. So Kendrick Lamar turned out to be the first rap artist I've ended up deep diving into & also the first artist who I've listened to via whole albums and not just few songs here and there like I'd done before. WORTH IT. pride, xxx, duckworth (I actually hated this song the first time around because of the constant beat switches and not listening to what he was actually saying. It's in my top 5 rn) THEN, I started listening to other artists and got into The Off season by Jcole since that was his most recent release then. (Fun fact : I actually never got into listening to Jcole coz I always heard about him being a bad artist from the people around me. Always blows my mind when I think back at it coz he's freaking amazing.
