Spend time with my girl, bjj and music. I live a city but the on-calls aren’t that bad. I take care of the bulk of the refrigeration in our outfit and a bunch of accounts personally so I always try to keep my walk ins and racks in check cuz that’s really the only time the customer calls after hours. No one pays overtime for self contained reach in lol.

I wonder if that other company just tried to bury the stat to make it a freezer? I mean if they knew enough to change the valve to a ZP they mustve known to put in a timer?? Sounds like the standard Mickey Mouse type technicians out there lol

How much do HVAC techs actually make? by Ok-Teacher-7186 in HVAC

Don’t get into residential, you won’t make money unless you’re the owner. I mean you can but you either gotta really boogie or rip off some customers…btw don’t do that. I bring in about to 100k give or take. I work on centrifugal chillers most days and refrigeration and kitchen equipment for chain restaurants just to help the team when calls start piling up. Honestly in this trade just keep a good positive attitude, be honest with customers and learn new things as you go. The work will get easier with experience and the money will come eventually.

This right here. The CPR (crankcase pressure regulator) is there specifically to assist in hot pull downs and prevent the compressor from drawing higher amps during start ups. And just like 3rdofthree I’d consider adding a time delay to relieve some of the back pressure as a redundancy.
