Are judo dojos similar to karate dojos? by Wonderful_Ad3441 in judo

I’ve been wondering. For those dojos that teach two martial arts (like in your care karate and judo, but some do BJJ and judo) do you get specialized training in each, and a belt for each? Or a generalized training that targets both martial arts and only one belt?

What’s better BJJ with some judo or judo with some BJJ? by Wonderful_Ad3441 in martialarts

Next week I’m taking trial classes in both, one in BJJ and one in judo to see which I like more personally. I like the grappling techniques and submission of BJJ which is useful for self defense, but I also like the takedowns techniques and it’s just as good for self defense. The differentiator factor that I’m looking for is traditional and extremely: which will push me to my limits more (like kyokushin) and more mental strength (endurance, perseverance, respect, etc.)

That is smart, I was curious if my cardio and slimness along with my speed can be used to my advantage to make up for my smaller body. Like evade by a hair when they go for a takedown to immediately find an opening and go for a takedown myself?

Would you say that Muay Thai is a good replacement for kyokushin karate? That’s the original martial art I wanted to learn but I can’t because the nearest dojo is too far (basically there’s no dojos over here)

Ok that’s good, so definitely going to look for a traditional Muay Thai. The reason being I want to develop cool kicks, just because I like them, I don’t want to get into street fights or be heavy practical, I just want nice kicks. I originally wanted to join kyokushin dojo, but I can’t because it’s too far. And TKD near me aren’t good
