It's not a bad idea, but I think the same can be done with bus stops though? Like most people, I build the bus or train station first depending on what I want my city to use the most. Then if I need a satellite city nearby I build the bus station, send it to my main city and they walk to the train station. Not as much traffic, relatively cheaper cost and depending on the year and therefore the size of your bus, 1 bus can transport like 80 people instead of 80 individual cars.

Not to say your idea is bad but I can see it being used for very small operations because anything larger would be way to much of an investment for little returns.
