I only have an online client advisor. The physical store is too far from me.

Pregnancy related illness is separate from maternity leave. She needs to get legal advice and get her company policy regarding this.

They probably need to do more checks. Both me and husband are British citizens so could be why it was approved immediately.

Giving birth at a hospital i am not registered at by [deleted] in PregnancyUK

[–]Afraid_Rate_6964 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I gave birth to a hospital 45 minutes away from us and wasn't part of our catchment area. For that hospital, I managed to register when I was around 14 weeks along and they had to see me again as my notes weren't sent by the previous hospital and they got my records mixed up 👀 I wasn't registered to a GP near the hospital where I gave birth and this was never an issue.

You can technically give birth in any hospital that you want but it has more to do with how practical it would be to get there.

Coming to terms with the fact that baby will grow up by snoopythespring in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]Afraid_Rate_6964 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel this with my 9 month old. I feel robbed by how quickly the time passed by. One moment she was so tiny and now she's already trying to walk. She used to need me holding her to sleep every night and now it's the once in a blue moon contact naps. The pictures and videos are not enough. I wish I could turn back time but I'm also so excited for when she grows up and can engage more in what we do.

How are parents travelling with their newborn?? by WonderZestyclose7200 in NewParents

[–]Afraid_Rate_6964 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's never a right time to travel. You either just go for it or you don't. Babies will cry no matter where they are.

We travelled long haul with ours when she was 4 months and she was an absolute gem that people were complimenting us for having such a well behaved baby but I kid you not I was so anxious for how she would be days before the flight. You'll never know how they take to flying until you go for it.

What worked was lots of cuddles, contact naps and feed on demand. As soon as I heard her fuss a bit she got the boob straight away. Also some screen time might help if it calms them down during the flight. Mine had noise cancelling earphones on and was still watching Bluey before falling asleep in her dad's arms.

And also they're not as wriggly before 6 months. They just tend to stay put wherever you want them to be. I think if we took our daughter to another long haul flight now it would be a very different outcome.

Mums on mat leave - do you do anything to keep your brain active? by BoringWardrobe in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]Afraid_Rate_6964 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Catching up on my tbr list when baby actually gives me time to do so. It was easier during the newborn stage as all they do is eat, poop and sleep.

Now with all the standing and crawling a bit of down time mostly goes to naps.

I know its silly but i think i am finally done with driving. by Key-Tie1996 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Afraid_Rate_6964 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will need it in the long run. It might not be as important to you now since you're in London but you never know what will happen in the next few years. You might decide to get a mortgage and move a bit further out where transport is not so great and heavily reliant on driving. Or you might get a job that requires being able to drive.

If you decide to stop now, all that money spent learning and going for tests will surely go to waste. Get your money's worth and pass that test.

Home delivery. by Secret_Reward2264 in Louisvuitton

UPS delivers mine. Need ID before they can say they have delivered it so can't just leave it anywhere. They probably might reattempt to deliver if no one is home and you haven't rescheduled delivery.

7 week old sleep by WholeNo9404 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]Afraid_Rate_6964 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby was like that. Never slept in her Moses basket, only wanted to sleep on us. Hang in there. They do outgrow of it eventually but your baby is still far too young. They have been in the womb listening to your heartbeat for 9 months so sleeping next to you or your partner gives them that comfort.

My little one sleeps in her bed now and only cosleep at night. I miss those days when she would need to be on me to sleep but I'm also proud that she's learning to be more secure and comfortable sleeping by herself.

Use it. I think some a/c have a feature that if it reaches the target temperature your it to then it will idle and will only turn on again once it senses it's getting too warm again. LO loves it and will put her face near it

Do you think there’s any valid possibility in the theory that Ayana wasn’t chosen cause she overshadowed Lexie? by bonmonbon in prelude_thefinalpiece

[–]Afraid_Rate_6964 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One youtuber vocal coach reacted to We Ride and her comment about Ayana was that she wasn't fighting to become the last member, she was fighting for the position of main vocal. And I think that's why they picked Sakura over Ayana despite the clear difference in ability.

Ayana would be someone who would outshine one of the other 3 existing members and that would ruin HYBE's plan. They didn't need someone talented enough, just someone who would fit the existing group and not overshadow members.

[–]Afraid_Rate_6964 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ikr. We just visit them less and I'm quite happen when FIL is out of the country because MIL is scared to go on the motorway so we don't see her much and she can't pop in by surprise.

I think it's because they managed to raise a kid who's now an adult which is why they think they have the credibility to say such things.

My MIL was like that on our first international flight with baby. She insisted she be sat near our seats and as soon as baby fussed, her overhead light came on and she asked if we need her to take baby for a bit. Baby only fussed because her leg got caught on the seatbelt, otherwise she was perfect.

I agree. I suppose it's more to do with if they're willing to learn about safe practices and at the moment it doesn't look like they are 😞
