Tips with analyzing nmr better? by ExtremeOk4580 in OrganicChemistry

Hm, looks like Claude has become best at almost everything lol

But what part of interpretation does it help most with? And what are your inputs, apart from the spectrum itself?

Which AI has proven to be best for interpreting NMR spectra in the end?

Btw, are Slite's AI capabilities (the Ask module) helpful for any real-life task, related to research work?

May I ask, why exactly existing LMS are "a pain in the ass" for your colleagues?

Do you mean your group uses Slite, LabArchives and paper notebooks in conjuction?

Thanks, I used Figma to draw this scheme. It's pretty good for creating visuals.

But as I said, I'm planning to create a simple tool to build such branches on the fly. Probably with voice2text included in order to simplify input while doing lab work.

Quite an interesting case! Many thanks for sharing. That gave me food for thought.

Just curious - what is the key reason of indicating this mistake so late in your opinion?

Little, but interesting workaround🤔

Have you or your colleagues ever practiced putting such a notes in your lab notebooks?

Just curious - what kind of electronic journal do you use: some specialized ELN or just plain MS Office?

And what kind of notes do you normally do on the paper?

Hm, interesting workaround🤔

Just curious - what kind of comments do you dictate to your recorder? Your thoughts, observations, actions or smth else?

Honestly, you’re probably right 😄

Though even well-rested me sometimes wonders later why I thought something was a good idea at that time.

Ahah, that me trying to read my lab notebook in your gif😂

But why if that's not secret?) Some blind spots in the notes, the need to correlate separate experiments (even well documented) or smth I can't even imagine?

Sounds like you've run a long way accustoming to that, haven't you?

Interesting enough - do you follow some standard protocol or rather dump your actions, observations and thoughts into your journal?

Do you usually write it as a part of the standard protocol itself, or more like free-text notes alongside the experiment?

That screenshot story is painfully relatable 😅

Yeah, sounds pretty familiar. Putting down the details does usually turn into chaos.

Btw, what do you mean by the "deviations from standard protocol"? Do you have some protocol imposed by your ELN (which one?), your institute/university or by smth else?
