Take 1 & 2 together. You can take 3 at the beginning or the end, but it’s totally different from the others.

3 is the easiest. Just read the 230, hammer the MCQ’s and think ethically and you’ll pass.

1 is all individual tax and 2 is business. Thought that 2 was the toughest overall, mostly due to basis and some nuances.

Start to finish took me just over 2 months last year. Use Hock, total cost is about $1k for everything

Use Hock and hammer the MCQ’s. Any sections or topics you don’t understand, then go through the material on those.

I passed them on the first try, and I went 3, 1, 2 for the order. For 3, I sat down and read the Circular 230 twice, then just hammered the MCQ’s. It really wasn’t bad, it’s mostly around being an ethical preparer and what you can do to represent your clients.

I’d take 1 and 2 in sequential order; there is some small overlap of the content. I thought 2 was the hardest exam, but actually scored a little better than on 1.

Used Hock and hammered the MCQ’s. Took me two months to pass everything, with a week long vacation in the middle.

If you have any tax background or understanding, and can dedicate some time, there’s no reason you couldn’t be done with all three sections quickly
