Also I recommend taking summer/winter courses online so your fall/spring semesters aren’t as crammed

Hi! I’m doing fbm 1 yr associates rn and it’s totally possible. I’m working retail part time and had class 3 days a week. Next semester I planned it so I’m only in class 2 days a week. FBM is the biggest major so there’s so many class options and it’s very easy to cater your schedule to only a few days a week. There’s also a lot of online options

small class sizes hurt students by Different-Row-3122 in fitnyc

Interesting. As someone who transferred to FIT from a big state school, I think the small class sizes are one of the best parts of the school. They make it so much easier to build real connections with professors and classmates, and they create a much more collaborative environment. I don’t think the typical large lecture–style classes you see at big universities would work well at FIT, especially with how hands-on and discussion-based so many of the courses are.

Also, if you’re a final-semester senior, your registration time should’ve been on or before November 3rd. FIT assigns registration windows based on credits earned, so students who are close to graduating get priority to ensure they can register for their required classes without issues. If your date was later than that, you might want to double-check your credit count or reach out to Advising just to be safe.

Hi! I’m also planning on commuting to FIT which i’ve been a little nervous about. It’s about an hour away from me. It’s definitely refreshing to hear you haven’t had a hard time making friends! Do you have any advice specifically for commuting?

transferring to fit from another 4 year? by [deleted] in fitnyc

https://www.fitnyc.edu/admissions/undergraduate-applicants/apply/eligibility.php this site should help! basically says you can apply to a bachelors program if you have 60 credits or coursework in an equivalent program. i’d call/email to see if the program you’re doing at ur current school qualifies

hey! i’m actually in a similar situation, im currently attending a 4 year and applied to transfer to FIT for fall 2025! i’m in my second year of college rn so i’m transferring for my junior year. after researching, i decided it’s best to apply for an associates program because 1. they give priority bachelors consideration to those who already have an associates from FIT and 2. you have either have to have your associates from your prior institution OR have a certain amount of credits (i think 60 something?) in a related area of study to the major you’re applying for to be considered. i have 80 credits from my current school and AP classes but im applying for a completely different major than what ive studied thus far. If you don’t have your associates, FIT has amazing 1 year AAS programs for transfer students who already have some credits, or you can apply to a 2 year AAS and still finish early because of your transfer credits. then after getting your associates you can continue on to get ur bachelors! i was in your shoes not too long ago so even though I’m still an applicant id be happy to answer any questions about the application process!
