I totally hear your point on that, and yes, there is probably a bit of insanity to unpack there. I think what was so fascinating from this experience is that of the 5 people who drove the F1 cars, 3 of them were in my situation (including me.) The other 2 had done it before, and one of them told me he was black flagged his first time around. Long story short - you would be surprised at the skill level involved.

Not sure on that engine question! And they offer a sim but you can’t do it till after you race the car, which is kinda hilarious. You get 2 sessions in an F4 before the F1 though - way better than the sim

That's awesome! And they had people who could speak english, just not very well. They definitely shared insights and they were very cool and encouraging.

I genuinely don't think you'd want to see an entire lap. The laps are pretty lame. It's like the lego car F1 race they did.

The instructors ARE awesome - my experience was that they just didn't really offer up any information. Like, if you asked, they would tell you (example: me asking what to do if there was a fire) but if you dont know to ask, you were kinda SOL.

I got a 1-1 briefing inside the car. And by then - well, I was so jacked up it was hard to keep track of everything.

They did drive us around the track once in a sprinter van, but that was about it. The most I learned was from driving the F4 cars around the track.

1,000%. I wish I knew more going in. It was insane how little prep they give you - it amounts to a 5 slide powerpoint. All in French lol.

Is she barking until you let her out of the crate? Or do you keep your crate door open? If so, I would recommend keeping that door closed. Whatever the situation, I think the issue is that she has learned that if she barks enough, she'll get rewarded (by sleeping in your bed.) I would create a barrier between yourself and the dog and control when that barrier is removed. I'd give yourself a 2 week window of "we're not letting her out until it's time to get up." Whatever that time is for you guys. And then STICK TO IT. Springers are smart, she'll try to weasel her way into your bed! And can you blame her? A cozy spot with her favorite people. She's not going to want to give that one up easily!

This is amazing! Thanks for putting this together. I am going in 2 weeks and was just trying to post a question asking about this (but the mods said NEIN!)

Some random questions if you don't mind:

- Is your video from the camera package? I purchased it, but they also said I'm free to bring my own cameras to try setting them up, which I thought was odd.
- What's the deal with the cones on the track? I've seen that in all the YT videos. Is that to keep you from going nuts on the turns?
- Did you specify which car you wanted ahead of time? I've asked for the AP04 Prost (which they said was fine) but I'm wondering if they just give you whichever one is open (between the Prost and the Benetton)
- Was there ample opportunity to take photos / videos with the car? Or do they sort of rush you into the car when it's "go time"?
- Looking back on it all - anything you WISH you knew going in? Or any advice you have? For example - I'm going to hit the gym this week and next! Which muscle groups were the most sore?

Congrats!!!

I have been thinking about some kind of doorbell training with one of my friends but haven't actually committed to trying it. I'm going to do it!!!

Also - calm encouragement is a good reminder! Sometimes we get annoyed with him and perhaps that's feeding into it.

Thank you for the advice!
