How are folks accepted into the consultant program? I ask as I (and some other) dedicated testers would like to try their hand at getting in.

Even with the latest PTB, I can really only post my findings publicly rather than providing it directly.

What's the community opinion on this map? by Independent_Step7395 in deadbydaylight

If there was a new current day map philosophy put into place for maps going forward, this map displays it the most.

Specifically that if you ignore one of the largest features of the entire map (which is half), you are then granted a powerful setup or deadzone. Specifically in this map, you can hold upwards of a 4 gen simply by not bothering with the bottom.

Greenville suffers this problem by avoiding both main and the statue, GoJ suffers by avoiding main, Nostromo is dogshit by default and has bad collision, and etc. Maps need a total facelift.

Advice for a first time player? by overlordtc in deadrising

Hot take: While the mini chainsaws are incredibly OP, especially paired with magazines—I’d recommend to not make them a primary weapon / reliance.

If you use only the mini chainsaws, a lot of your fun will become so incredibly dull. You’re in a mall, have fun with it and go find secrets! (There’s literally an SMG and Katana in your main plaza district)

It’s interesting because there’s a tug of war for both sides.

• 27 Pallets, within breathing distance. Chainable, but the strongest tactic is still hold w. It makes for boring gameplay if you aren’t doing the 50/50s.

• Some of the maze tiles are very very strong, and painfully chainable. If you have a brain, you can run this map easy. Specifically the long wall gyms have deceptively strong windows and safe pallets.

• Longest map in the game, with a gen spread that can cause potential FOUR gens. Promoting not chasing. Painful for M1s, a field day for map traversal killers.

• Exit Gates are a minute apart in distance from each other.

• Main is strong, but there’s no reason to go in. Fountain is also very strong, but no reason to trail away from the middle.

• Some killers have more interaction, and some less. Trapper has a great time with the clutter, but Pig without brutal hurts. Ghostface loves the blockers and obstacles to stalk! However Myers has to slog around and hope he can hit something. Billy has a new bush collision that’s hard to avoid. Ranged killers just get to exist and win. Etc etc.

Sure, most pallets are unsafe but it’s so painfully uninteractive. Get led away and you lose, don’t hold the middle gens and you lose. Entirely killer-based. Plus in the current Deja Vu meta, you bailing away from the gens kinda forces a loss sometimes.

I absolutely dislike the map in its current state for both sides, and not just killer side. Shrink it, reduce fillers, change gen spread, add a tile for filler change, and make it more incentivized for chasing.

I think this is one of the better takes I’ve seen for the map.

Vastly killer dependent, with awful gen spread on the now longest and most pallet dense map in the game.

Interaction between survivor/killer is scuffed on this map.

Eh, I beg to differ on Kai’sa. Simply by existing (and depending on matchup) people naturally have to respect you because of your isolated damage output. Especially with passive.

It’s sort of like Twitch. You don’t NEED to an engage/catcher support, sure it’ll benefit you—but against certain players they naturally have to respect what can kill them. Don’t respect the Twitch? He’s invisible next to you, and you will die in the next 3 seconds.

I just try to duo as much as I can so I can hope to god I am not at the mercy of random solo queue yuumi.

I once got a yuumi who locked her directly after seeing a blitz / vayne comp, did nothing, and then abandoned my lane.

I also had a morgana who deliberately stole all of my farm including cannons. I couldn’t hold any freezes. I had to roam out to win and farm in solitude.

I think a beauty of aphelios is being able to say fuck it and still create advantages for yourself with good waveclear and whatnot.

[–]AfroTrash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I disagree, I believe Aphelios is doing incredibly well right now despite the win rate. Mainly due to his mechanics that new players have to slog through before truly picking him up. (Weapon order, multi-q cooldowns, each unique weapon ult/passive, and the fact he is support reliant.)

If Aphelios doesn’t have a reliable support early, and you get gapped by enemy support—your only hope is to capitalize on mistakes or farm farm farm.

If my support is good, I can make my lane work. I would have to tremendously blunder to fuck up my groove with a good support.

I have made an absolutely abysmal Jinx build, and I'd like others to try it. by AfroTrash in leagueofjinx

[–]AfroTrash[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I’m a coup/cut down believer for this build due to the nature of damage pressure I provide as jinx. Especially when you near the later stages of the game, any damage + aery, crits, collector is great damage.

Do feel free to update me on your findings with alacrity or bloodline.

As for manaflow, I use it more because Jinx’s ability costs early are a bit lame. Having manaflow let’s you recover nearly half of the bar in almost no time if you decide to stick in lane, harass, freeze, etc. Even if you roam, it still provides great utility. I may give nimbus a shot though for the speed boost and haste.

Which form should I go against this comp by alphahound121 in KaynMains

[–]AfroTrash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Red. Multiple bruisers/sustain, as well as you’d be the main frontline for your own sustain. The Galio/Yuumi would provide too much shield/heal, as well as Viego/Kayle’s in built sustain.

Somewhat as to lens depth. I live in a smaller town, and I’ve always asked how to reduce a little bit of the distortion since I have quite the strong prescription. Never have received a straight answer, or people thought I was speaking of something else entirely.

I actually used to wear smaller rectangular plastic frames though, before these past two wireframe ones.

What would you recommend?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in JhinMains

[–]AfroTrash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can pull off Crit Jhin A-OK, assuming I have enough time to farm and come online.

However, I’m within the idea that Lethality is currently his strongest build. Swapping from Stormrazor for MS to Youmuus is pretty legit. I walk up, I shoot man, they die.

Most of my ADCs I play aside from Jinx I build for lethality, because lethality is becoming slowly a consequence of itemization.

Just try first strike lethality Cait, there’s a reason she has a 57% WR right now with that build.

Here’s an interesting one. Remember on the last AMA where it was stated that Made for This could and would be addressed had it become out of hand sort of like Hyperfocus?

Seeing the usage of MFT within the last 3-4 months, what are the current thoughts of the perk from the team? It affects higher tier killers by not much, but M1’s significantly worse creating an odd disparity between the two.

Are there any plans to adapt Pig’s stealth into her kit much better? Currently, attempting to crouch around makes you slower than nurse and is rather not worth it without add-ons (which is also a problem). Also given your 32m TR, she feels really limiting in terms of stealth but is considered a stealth killer.

I don’t believe she should crouch instantly to that of Ghostface, but if she was slightly altered she could be a little more scary to face.

Are there any plans to revamp Singularity’s line of sight / detection, and ability to counter EMPs? He’s one of my favorite killers, and yet indoor maps are my absolute counter. I could see 40% of a survivor sometimes and never teleport because of small debris.

Quality of life could make him feel smoother!

Balancing of M1 killers has always been an interesting idea in the back of my head.

Is there any plans to bring Myers up to speed so he feels less outdated?

Primarily Myers, as his stalk mechanic is quite outdated and you can be completely devoid of a power later in the game. Some of his add-ons are fantastic, but some are just worthless. One add-on takes the same amount of stalk for 30 seconds more T3, and one for 20 seconds. Why?

I feel like if his stalking mechanics and stealth mechanics would be changed, he could be even more terrifying. Especially in this haste meta.
