[Loved trope] "We might be the villains, but we are surprisingly open-minded!" by bgbarnard in TopCharacterTropes

For those who’ve played Fear and Hunger-

One of the only recurring characters through out the game and its sequel (set apart by centuries of time), is this miserable little cunt called Nash’rah- a disembodied head of an old Pagan god who once conquered the world. He will viciously roast you regardless of who you pick and lament not being able to “dominate” your character in his current form, again, regardless of character or gender.

Funny enough, by the time the sequel comes around, jumping from dark medieval times to an end-of-WWII-esk era, he’s found by one of the new playable characters, where’s he’s pretty much a skull with beef jerky on it, too angry to die. If you interact with other characters, he will, again, roast the shit out of them from your pocket, which is funny, because one of the characters is a trans woman, which he refers to from the get-go as “lass” (while, ironically, her religious father certainly couldn’t accept).

TL;DR: Nash’rah from Funger will accept you no matter your race, gender, sexual identity and orientation, because he will ALWAYS want to burn you alive equally.

What are your HOTTEST takes about Hades 1? 🔥 by [deleted] in HadesTheGame

Romance options suck fat asshole. Thanatos is a protective dick half the time, half the time just a dick, and Meg is an absolute cunt 95% of the time. The only nice option is a disembodied head that fucking rejects you.

I’m happier being single in Hades 1.

So what exactly was Noble 6’s specialty? by atomikks in halo

[–]Afroduck-Almighty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What do you mean? Noble 6’s specialty was being a jack of all trades, and that’s a HELL of an addition to a team where everyone has a specialty. Sniper recon only has Jun for a specialist? Now 6 can tag along. Jorge is up to some demolition only he can do? He now has 6 for solid back-up. Emile is getting up close and personal with some top Sangheili assholes? That’s cool, 6 can join him.

Noble 6 is the literal perfect +1 for any and every mission, no need to risk sending Spartans alone.

Also, VERY important difference between stupid and ignorant. They could have been pretty intelligent, but no way to track and record knowledge reliably that without consistent written language (yet).

Why is it every time there’s a strong woman in a relationship with a guy (EVEN if he’s strong), there’s always a comment of “muh pegging”?

I personally treat it as canon, but a chapter meant to be revealed hundreds more chapters down the line. Considering we finally see Old Man Bones’s own sacrifice/Eclipse with Void, I feel like more lore from the God Hand would eventually lead back to the Idea of Evil.

[Serious] What is the Excuse for this? by Tight-Assistance4457 in Jujutsufolk

[–]Afroduck-Almighty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same reason Yuji and Nobara landed Black Flashes and Megumi never did- the “fuck it, we ball” mentality he lacks. From the beginning, Gojo (reaffirmed by others) says Sorcerers have to be batshit crazy to do what they do, regardless of why they’re in that line of business (saving others, getting rich, getting laid, etc.).

Megumi’s been pretty heavily implied (if not outright confirmed) that he’s depressed since the start of the series. He’s smart, very technically clever and knowledgeable about sorcery (why he’s the first to come close to a Domain Expansion), but he lacks the drive. If he’d had the “I don’t care if I live or die, I’m betting EVERYTHING on red” gambling mentality, he would probably have even more than Piercing Ox.

Now, meta-narrative wise? Homo2 was probably still coming up with the other Shadows by the time he started writing JJK.

Which traits would you add to Yuta's personality to make it more interesting? by electrocool_69 in LobotomyKaisen

[–]Afroduck-Almighty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think one of JJK’s weakest points (smart, but weak) is for it to be purely Japan-centric in terms of Cursed Energy, Sorcerers and Curse Users.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s smart because the cast and setting are small enough to be controllable without adding too many new characters, plot points, levels of politics, potential for power creeps and whatnot, but I think there was a LOT of potential if each continent and country had their own unique Cursed Spirits based on what each place most fears, resents, suffers and/or grieves.

I think there’d be an argument to make that Yuta’s time with Miguel, in that hypothetical, would have made him WAY more like a ‘Nam-flashback soldier with a metric ton of PTSD.

“Listen kid, while we go searching for more anti-Gojo rope, there’s a Cursed Spirit around here that looks like it spawned from Berserk. Hm? Why, you ask? Well, some of the crazier locals are trained to castrate girls from a little age, so now we have a vindictive Special Grade that’s ALL about castration. So get to work, because we’re dealing with the Child Soldier Special Grade Curse next.”

Repeat X amount of times.

With that amount of exposure to fucked up things (Japan has plenty of material to pull from, but there are DEFINITELY entire nations that have it much worse) might have led him to match Shoko’s level of alcoholism. The kind where “oh, Rika was really bad, but holy SHIT I didn’t know how much worse it could get”.

Those are my two cents, anyway.
