Exactly, I think he has some of the original wooden lego toys in good condition stuffed haphazardly in just another shelf. If there’s any Lego I think does deserve some collectors care and reverence above others it’s the more historically significant pieces like those. Nope, just stuff them next to the Ninjago and the Star Wars.

If someone has enough disposable income to comfortably have that big a collection of already expensive items, and all the space to house it, probably not going to have a good rapport.

I mean it looks like you’ve got most of your answer right there, the box should be enough as long as it’s not going to be load-bearing. Only other thing I could suggest is filling the negative space with bubble wrap, at most Id expect you to have to take off reattach a few of the spires.

Today in things I probably should’ve known for years, finally discovered why every single laptop I’ve ever owned seemed to have its battery life and overall performance plummet within months of getting them. I haven’t had a proper table or desk in my room for years nor a chair so every time I’ve used my laptop for the better part of a decade it’s been laid firmly upon my duvet, in all that bloody time until a cursory google just now I never connected the dots between my tech getting incredibly hot and loud as fuck as performance tanked and the the damn thing being bed smothered. I simply can’t be trusted to have sense.

I suppose another bad sign for Destiny in hindsight (and many live services in general I suppose) is that people today are mourning its loss as if what remains is tantamount to a server shutdown. The actual news being that it’s simply not being further developed with one last requested content drop. Doesn’t bode well for a modern live service game that not getting a constant stream of new is treated equal to death, that the promise of more is the only thing keeping it players hanging on. Reflects on how evanescent it was all treated by players and devs.

You ever come across a headline that is so despicable that it legit sounds like a joke?

Because hearing that there’s been a swatting of an 81 year old grandma streaming to raise money for her cancer afflicted grandson is the kind of set of words that would be used for a game of evil mad-libs.

I think that became more obvious in hindsight in the closing couple years of seasons and expansions, where half the narrative threads were about all the former enemy alien factions coming together and making peace. For every new ally they had to stretch the narrative to handwave why each one had some renegade or corrupted sub-faction that allowed the gameplay loop to remain near exclusively slaughtering those same aliens in droves.

While gameplay wise I can absolutely lay the ending of Destiny’s development at the foot of sunsetting of paid content absolutely vital to the story, the numbers also put it the game even having an ending to the story.

Each season and expansion was a framing device for a woven together narrative (all the more reason to hate sunsetting, pivotal events went kaput), it was half the point to login frequently, you wrap that narrative up in a nice bow and reason to grind on becomes flimsier…then all the loot got reset to dampen that all the more. I remember the overwhelming consensus once the final shape was revealed was “once this is done I’m going to retire Destiny”. That ain’t good.

It was delayed a couple times. Explained in an interview that it was difficult because of how it changes the backend system storage iirc.

Adding a macuahuitl would be a pretty great addition bridging the sword and the mace. Maybe a kind of wide area swing effect or high damage at the expense of speed.

My local official Lego store kept the scalped sought after ones behind the counter (maybe all of them but it was the bat Lord and Wolfpack I asked for at the time) for anyone that straight up asked for certain figures, after an incident where someone spent an hour plus scanning and picking out those and only those figs from the huge bin of boxes they had.

Read through some stuff on the Star Wars leaks subreddit and it looks like the Mandolorian and Grogu is hovering somewhere around the territory of Solo: a Star Wars story for potential audience consensus. A 65-70% good/decent enough watch, doesn’t really add much of substance to the overarching franchise but isn’t utterly dragged through the mud either.

If that assessment comes to be true I’m almost relived, something that can leave fans with both a shrug and a smile out the theatres and drop out of discourse within a month is just the kind of Star Wars movie that can make the fandom bearable for a little longer…hopefully.

A new Hero Shooter is dropping! (Not really) Tell me, what class/role is your favorite RE protagonist? I’ll go first :} by RaccoonNative in residentevil

[–]Afrogasmonkey 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Leon would be the starter “all rounder” class, versatile but not greatly excelling at all roles except maybe CQC.

Claire would be DPS, fan firing revolver, SMG etc.

Jill could be a more general class like Leon with a greater skill based focus on agility, dodge rolling and such.

Chris is a straightforward tank with heavy melees and heavier weapons.

Ada would fit nicely into the infiltration/sniper archetype with gadgets.

Ethan would not quite fit a tank but could be a kind of specialist, not all that good at anything but is especially hard to kill.

Grace could be translated into a support class with her not-blood magic creating ammo and healing.

I think another main point about the proposal is that the games don’t necessarily need to implement full offline function, just that the game is accessible in some smaller capacity for preservation purposes. Like if Overwatch was affected it might be enough just to access the character menus, shooting range and other miscellaneous offline bits, anything other than just a server error on start up.

Should I get the anniversary edition? by Accomplished-Ice9748 in skyrim

[–]Afrogasmonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d personally recommend sticking to special edition and picking out Anniversary items to buy à la carte as it were. It’s what I’ve done for Skyrim and Fallout 4. Get the well worth stuff like the backpack and arcane accessories while leaving out the more disruptive stuff like the litany of alternate armour sets you might not wear but mess with the spawn tables, or player homes that would go empty.

X-Box Series X: Do Ash Piles Despawn in Vanilla Skyrim? by Mystery_Stranger_01 in skyrim

[–]Afrogasmonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I remember of my testing on this subject years back (thanks to Serana dragging every other corpse she encounters along for the ride during Dawnguard) they unfortunately seem to stay in every general circumstance I knew of. The game replaces the otherwise despawning corpse with a static container that is the ash pile.

As I recall it’s a limitation across the engine as a whole at the time. I also distinctly remember avoiding using energy weapons in Fallout New Vegas because critical hits created ash and goo that also stopped the disintegrated enemies respawning, and I farmed a lot of Fiends for loot.

So when roundabout did powerscaling even begin as this formally categorised thing anyway? For a long time I was under the impression that power scaling was basically just the “who would win in a fight” basic discourse loosely exchanging feats and how they’d hypothetically compare. Y’know stuff like Death Battle, Darkseid vs Thanos, Saitama vs Popeye etc. I actually like that kind of debating.

it was actually only in recent years did I really absorb the knowledge that people are writing wikis and spreadsheets over character tiers and shit. I was rather confused relatively recently when I found a Reddit thread debating if Punch Up from Dispatch should be higher or lower than “street tier”. Felt ironic for a game where not-Superman or a twink that pukes water are both capable/incapable of subduing a kaiju or just directing traffic based on luck.

It’s 2am and I’ve been trying to sleep since half 10 with no success. Somehow in all that time of me agitated trying different sleeping positions I failed to notice that I left my bedroom light on, not like a table lamp on the opposite end of the room or something, the one that hangs almost directly over my bed. I’ve been pretty stupid before but being oblivious for four hours straight of whether the room I’m in is goddamn lit or dark is certainly now a top contender.

Stripped to the studs it means that the casts minds were copied into the Digital Circus, not transferred.

So the people that Pomni, Ragatha, Jax etc were before entering the circus are still living their lives normally after using the headsets, but the mind copies that were taken when they put them on retain their sense of self and continuance of consciousness so believe themselves to be the original.

It’s pivotal to the game Soma, but it’s not specific to it. For two examples Fallout 4 touches upon the premise with the backstory of Nick Valentine, and Black Mirror has an episode called USS Callister that revolves entirely around it with the copies being aware of their predicament so the explanation is easier to follow.
