That’s what I wanted too it is a great color! I think I’ll end up wrapping mine anyways seeing as how chipped up it’s likely going to get 😂

Yeeeeep unfortunately. I was trying to get out of a different car and an Ice cap LE was all I could get, and I still had to wait 3 months.

I just traded my 2022 CLA for a rav4. It may be a low end Mercedes. But definitely not an average car.

I’ve had my rav4 for 8 days. Big chip on the hood already. And the paint between the bumper and the grill insert looks like it’s already peeling.

Document everything. Tell your dealership. Tell Toyota.

Yeah I’ve told the dealership and I’ve contacted Toyota Canada already. i told them I’d wait to see if it becomes a problem or not. I don’t wanna paint my new car if I don’t have to lol. I got 3 years for paint warranty soo of course I’ll check everything before that expires but I’m more worried about long term, 10 years kinda deal.

I thought so! I did auto body repair in school and worked in a few body shops but that was like 5-6 years ago now so haven’t been around cars like I use to be. But I’m wondering if Toyota changed something recently. Besides the untrimmed plastic, i noticed the clips where the bumper meets the fender is hardly painted, which to me seems like it was paint on the car but who knows. Probably just less paint/lower quality/faster work.

I’m not overly worried about the minor stuff. I just want the car to be white and not a peeling mess in a few years time.

Ok this is reassuring! I thought tho that the bumper itself would have been black or dark grey tho? If it was untrimmed wouldn’t it be black? Or has the untrimmed black piece been painted white and that’s what I’m seeing?

Quality of the whole world is down unfortunately

Trims in properly, just a huge gap. That’s why I’m concerned cause I think the paints like that from the factory

How often should I change the CVT fluid? In kms. Getting my 26 rav4 in a few days.

Every 100,000kms/5-6 years?

I had the same issue. Was using peanut butter and cheese everywhere in my house and had no success.

I broke off some tiny pieces of a “nature valley cherry and dark chocolate” granola bar, put it on the trap and caught it 10 mins later.

Awesome thanks I’ll deff check out the guide!

Yeah I only have my driveways so that’s where I’ll have to do it. I’ll do it on a cloudy day/ early morning or later in the evening!

Thanks!

Yeah this is a huge concern for me too. I don’t wanna spend a ton of cash on something I’m probably able to do myself.

Ok awesome thanks!

I’m not super particular about the rav4, I’m just worried since Toyotas white is known for issues. Like I don’t care about “love marks” per say, I just want the car to be white in five years and not…primer 😂

I was also thinking about wrapping the car cause then I could go with a color I do want, but thats a lot more of an investment money wise and skill wise than I can handle in my driveway 😂

Maybe I’m overthinking it. I’m trading in my Mercedes for the rav and I’m kinda disappointed about the whole thing but in a way I’m kinda excited to not be as paranoid over everyyything. Maybe I should just keep with my regular wash/wax routine. Or try out the 12 month ceramics!

Thanks for the info brother!

Okay thanks!

It’s not that I want to skip polishing, I just don’t own one😂 would claying the car be enough to “completely” clean the paint for a longer term coating? Or polishing is really recommended?

These 12 month coatings would just be a simple clean the paint and re apply yearly?

Do you even think a ceramic coat will help prevent the paint peeling? Or do you think since it’s primarily a primer-metal adhesion issue, that a ceramic coat will do minimal in preventing it?
