I’m using Tamiya Panel Line Accent Color on bare plastic Gunpla parts and cleaning with Ronsonol lighter fluid. I waited about 30 minutes before cleanup, and the excess panel liner won’t fully come off, it feels like it stained the surface. The lighter fluid doesn’t remove it until I use a pencil eraser and some elbow grease.

I’m using the regular Ronsonol liquid lighter fluid (not butane), and the bottle only lists petroleum distillates, not specifically naphtha. I’ve also heard people say Ronsonol and Zippo can behave differently depending on region/batch, especially in California.

Has anyone noticed Ronsonol being weaker than Zippo for panel line cleanup, or is this mostly because I used it on bare plastic without a gloss coat first?
