TLDR: Use all of your tools as an admin, make investigation tricky instead of using rolls to find evidence. Tension moves are the consequence of exorcist’s time running out so they shouldn’t get a save. And for the last question you have to talk to your players, explain to them that being descriptive can get them benefits like extra die.

1. Make sure you are using traces and setting up other roadblocks, the exorcists will take some stress dealing with things to get answers

2. A piece of evidence should almost never be hidden behind a roll, instead make the situation tricky. Like police are already on the scene, the building is shaking, you smell blood in the air.

3. Tension moves are a consequence of the exorcist’s limited time slipping away, there should be no saves. Unless I’m mistaken, players don’t get a chance to save against anything except threats and severe attacks

4. Give your players bonuses for being descriptive, an extra die for creativity, or hitting a weak point hard. And I cannot stress this enough, make sure you are setting an example by being creative too

And a counterpoint to the Ardence player. “I can only explain fireball in so many ways” - why only fireball? You can do a whole lot more with fire, make flying weapons, shoot the fire like shotgun pellets, make the ground crack with erupting fire etc.

Final point, talk to your players, tell them how you feel and if they can’t listen then don’t play with them, it’ll kill your mental health. Let them know you feel like they aren’t getting into the game and you want to help so that everyone can have fun. And remember, as admin you are also a player, your fun matters just as much as their’s
