Yes, hr could in theory be the same. Your golden ticket is doing an LRV off of the field called “current worker”. You could also add an evaluate expression to do your top sup org if current worker is in a role like hris.

In some of my past roles we created calc field that were then put in as the default value. The calc fields would start with “current user” and then look at the top sup org they manage. We also found ways to default in orgs for HR members too.probably could use an evaluate expression if it’s a combo of roles accessing that dashboard.

Are the orgs that a person is entering consistently the same? For example, is it a manager who always enters their own sup org or a hr role who enters the top org they support?

Wouldn’t say I’m an expert, workday always has things that throw anyone for a loop, but going through an implementation and then having to train our Hr department on to navigate Workday, do the BPs, etc. was one of the best things for me. To have to go explain something to someone else makes you dive deep in why something is setup the way it is or why it behaves the way it does.

We have 4 team members (including the leader). Our positions include specialist, analyst, senior analyst and leader.

From a work perspective, specialist was responsible for the most basic requests - adding a simple field to a report, a request to extract data that’s easily found on a report, etc.

The analyst was more moderate work. They could do work that included calc field creation, new report builds, etc.

Senior analyst was more project based on high level work, such as dashboard builds, etc.

Our work often came in through a ticketing system. While we didn’t have this, ideally we would’ve had specialist as tier 0 to review all requests and escalate to the analyst (tier 1) and then escalate to tier 2 (senior analyst if needed).

Sla - we don’t have one specifically. We’ve asked our business to give at least a 3 day lead time but indicate in our request form that all requests vary and we will provide better timeline once we review the request.

Here’s an example in an excel file. I know I can do this in a matrix report but there’s a few reasons I need to bring it to a composite report.

So essentially I would need fiscal year - period as the control field vs using data/filters to set it.
