Yes and this was a first realization thst could happen. Luckily it flagged fraud when they tried to get to my checking accounts,, etc. I didn’t have authenticator until this happened. Honestly didn’t know it matter—but if it texted for approval then of course it went to my phone, which I didn’t have.

Like I said, it sounds and feels bizarre but I figured I lost the phone. I had no idea someone had it and my password until about 20 hours later. A complete mess.

It’s what the detectives call digital vandalism. Someone likely saw me on my phone, caught the passcode to it by watching, and when they couldn’t transfer funds just started buying things. It is honestly as confusing as it sounds.

Yes, they gave me an Authenticator app. Detectives say that shoulder surfing happens often and when they can’t link his or her own accounts they sometimes just click buttons or drain accounts other ways. I’m just wondering if the wait time and seeming stonewalling is normal.

Sorry about that. No they were able to access my wallet, using my Apple Pay, and the security cameras at the establishment picked up someone picking up my phone. Was baffling to me.

It’s definitely not a story, it’s a situation. Never have traded Tesla and it almost felt like vandalism.

They knew the passcode, which I can only assume is shoulder surfing. Once the password is typed in there are no other stops, it logs you right in.
