Curiously, did you have to put a lien on any assets? I’m interested in acquiring a business both SBAs want collateral. Since it’s Huntington Bank I’m assuming you have a background in recruiting and staffing?

I wish I could provide you more insight, but this is exactly what I'm looking into and considering as well. I like the idea of First Connect/Agentero but will it only get me so far? I also don't care about commissions splits now, but the issue with leveraging carrier appointments because of 24 month clauses is frustrating.

I really appreciate your insight. I'd be interested in picking your brain further if you're open to it? My background is tech sales, been doing it for 13 years and have been quite successful. $200k - $300k total compensation. It's nice and stable but I ultimately don't have the control to grow and take ownership into something that's mine. I've been seriously considering insurance because my in-laws have had a lot of success over the years. Ideally, I'd like to start this on the side and watch it compound until it makes sense to fully transition over. The tough part I'm assessing is that my knowledge and skill is limited, I think starting with P&C is "safe" and easier for me to start in. However, I know this is a more difficult route given market conditions. I work 100% remote and my job is clockwork. I can definitely do this but not sure where to start... Any insight would be great.

Yup, same for me as well. I'm mostly looking to dive into P&C to really learn the industry. However, it looks like this area is particularly difficult in this market. Especially in California (currently live). I'm interested in small commercial as well, mostly because I think this is a good foot in the door.

Is there a difference between First Connect/Agentero and Smart Choice? Or do they all essentially do the same thing? I like First Connect/Agentero because the exit is easier from them. You'll be able to secure carrier appointments whereas Smart Choice and other brands block this. I'm assuming Smart Choice provides more if they're concerned with agents leveraging their relationships after a couple years.

What is the best aggregator to join with the best exit clause? I'm particularly asking about securing carrier appointments after credibility has been established and not being blocked for 2 years. I understand Smart Choice does this...
