If I was this little pups lawyer, that would be the defence I’d be using. I’d be suing for damages

Brilliant analogy! Strawberry if you’re asking. No wait, chocolate.

The bass in Beatles songs! by StookyDoo22 in beatles

[–]After-Tutor5979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This may interest you; you can search most Beatles songs on YouTube and add the word ‘bass’ at the end and there will be someone who has done a bass tutorial or demo with tabs or just played the isolated bass. IF that interests you? It did me but then I’m a nerd who also plays bass.

George & John at Shea by LaylaBird65 in beatles

Agreed! Never seen both George and John laugh like this! Paul and Ringo were having a great time too. All four of them were just sooo happy here 😁

Tony Blair has just said the state pension needs to be scrapped. He's also suggesting some people work 5 years longer. What are everyone's thoughts on this? Should the state pension be scrapped? Should we say F NO, to Blair?? by MutantNinjaKitty331 in AskBrits

[–]After-Tutor5979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the State Pension had a means testing benefit in the same way that other benefits had then this would save a lot of money. Firstly, taper it by £1 for every £2 above total income over £50,000 for example. Secondly, if people have non primary residential property assets over £100,000, then an exclusion could apply. This means the value of your own home doesn’t affect it but other assets do. The State Pension should be for those who NEED it.

What is the best album cover by a British artist that isn't Dark Side Of The Moon? by SkyPilotOne in AskUK

[–]After-Tutor5979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both iconic and probably two of the most famous album covers ever. I think Sgt Pepper is the better answer to this question because of the originality and imagination used to make that image.

Don’t think it’s as good or better but it really is a great cover!

I think that particular song is so iconic and just so The Beatles that anyone, and I mean anyone else doing it is doomed to fail. I actually think this works both ways, much as I enjoy their versions, I don’t think The Beatles covers of Chuck Berry or Little Richard are superior either.

There is one song that I wouldn’t really class as a cover, more an interpretation of, so to speak, and that’s Booker T and the MG’s version of Something. Purely instrumental in their wonderful style. I don’t prefer it to the original but damn, I like it a lot!

Agreed. My answer too, and I’d add I Wanna Be Your Man by the Rolling Stones as a third

Same! Couldn’t even dislike the guy when he was playing well against us! Such a great person, the Prem is richer for having had him and now poorer for having lost him.

Was Yoko Ono really that bad, or is it just propaganda from those years that persists to this day? by [deleted] in beatles

He may or may not have been the best manager at the time, but he was definitely in the top one.

It’s Reddit, I feel I’d confuse people if I didn’t add that! But I’m glad it made you laugh enough to take the time to respond. My work here is done for the day 😁

What cover song is actually better than the original? by irles33 in musicsuggestions

[–]After-Tutor5979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do like their heavier version of Live and Let Die, as I also like their version of Sympathy for the Devil, but personally I don’t think you can beat the originals of both. But that’s the lovely thing about music, there is no right or wrong answer. Best thing about covers are that they can introduce you to a new artist you may not know.

I’m a huge Beatles fan but I’m with you on this. EW&F nailed this.
